Hey there EVE forums, ive got a quick question for you fine people. My alliance is moving into gurista 0.0 space. I have never really been much of a 0.0 guy. My main thing is production and Id say I do it rather well. But it´s not really an activity you can spend hours on every day. Atleast not logged into the game and really playing the way you´d do say World of Warcraft or Guild Wars 2. It´s more passive.

So with the move into this new part of space id like to try my hands at some ratting. Ive never really done it before and therefor have no real concept of how hard it is or any other issues I might face.

Id love some general comments and also thoughts on what ships would perform well out there?
I can´t fly anything fancy to start with since most of my SP is in industry or other areas.

So yeah, any help with comments, tips on ships and also skills I want to train would be most welcome =)

Thanks in advance

My best answer i can give you is heavily tank a battle cruiser to the type of damage receiving from the npc, (to each their own opinion on Battle cruiser used ) And using the ammo type the npc rats are weak against, can be found on any wiki. Though expect a loss if you run into a pvp player.

I used to rat in a taranis. That way if an enemy came into local I could mwd away and get to safety, plus was pvp fit for when a fleet was called up. Plus I liked the challenge of ratting in an inty. Just rat smart. Always expect trouble, keep an eye on local, pick random belts, set up safe spots. Stuff like that.

Guristas hate kinetic damage so the Drake & Tengu are great ships or Guritas space.

When I lived in 0.0 Guristas space I used to solo rat in the belts with a Drake until I trained up to a Tengu then just did the plex's. With a buddy also in a Tengu you have can do some of the high-end plex's with the chance of some nice drops.

Biggest tip is to watch local like a hawk. Even one unfriendly in the system can result in a Black Op's fleet crashing your party with no warning. Shocked

All this advice is bad.

When you arive to your space you will find 300 naga's and 300 vindicators in each system. What are all of these doing you may ask? Forsaken hubs I say. my little disfunctional non-optimal fleet still pulls in 30mil each/tick or 270mil/h.

tengu works fine for exploration still, sure hm's got nerfed but ham is still decent and all the plexes are much easier (ALL damage is kin/therm).

Compare this to the guy that suggested a drake and rakes in 15mil per hour and decide if you think you should listen to his advice.

edit: with your want for passive gameplay getting a couple of ishtar's isn't such a bad idea either.
