EVE API system down?

Hello,

Trying to use my API key in a few different places (Evemon, spreadsheet, etc), but I am getting errors. For example, Evemon says;

"The web server at api.eveonline.com returned an error. The full response returned by the web server was: Service Unavailable". I was wondering if this is a known issue, something on my end, something on CCP end, or what?

The fact killog data is not cached and served up to multiple kill mail aggrogators has been a long standing problem, if you give your API key to battleclinic, eve-kill, etc -- they are fighting over the access timeout thresholds CCP has set on the API server.

The proper way to fix this is add a caching mechanism, which can be easily done; so that everyone calling in gets a proper response, but perhaps the data is stale by a few minutes (who cares..)

At least then you wouldn't have the multiple aggregators fighting each other to 'hit the right timing window' on the API call. Yuck!

Here is same problem.

EVEMon 1.8.1.4016 API Error:

An error occurred while querying the character list for API key XXXXXX.
HTTP error: The web server at api.eveonline.com returned an error. The full response returned by the web server was: Service Unavailable


There was no associated XML document.

What is strange to me, and looks like there no timer (cash) problem for api calls because https://api.eveonline.com/ returns" Service Unavailable" just by going to that address without any parameters. It would be more appropriate to get some authorization error rather than service unavailable.

Any maintenance going on?

Same problem, neither Evemon nor EFT will access the API.

It's giving out a steady 503 error, suggesting there is either an internal problem or the server is simply down.

It's been that way since 19:08 today.

A few weeks back it got overloaded iirc so it could be that again.

My Neocom app is not pulling any information right now either. Something is definitely down.

Sorry for this downtime. We just had some issues with our cache servers. We have made few temporary fixes to get this working again. We will keep working on a permanent solution. Please report all issues that you may encounter.

We have a lot of API issues with our kill board (after almost every patch). Then in most cases it fixes itself after a day or so...... Ugh

Evemon is also not working for me, cannot connect to server and reports TQ is offline.

The launcher also reports TQ as offline and has no players, but the game plays fine Shocked.
