Sig, and also seeing as the game is free anyway, CCP could just port it on to the PS4

Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button.

Why is a post about DUST 514 on the EVE Online forums?

DUST 514 forums are over there.

The funny thing is, having Dust on both accomplishes the attracting a different community thing just the same, and those who are able to have a PS3 in the same room as their computer will pretty much give themselves orbital strikes anyways, so really, your sig explanation is ultimately meaningless.

It has been said a thousand times before; DUST on the PC would be a colossal mistake.

Having DUST on PC would mean EVE players without PS3s would play it, cannibalising their own playerbase (Making my sig not completely meaningless) plus if I had my PS3 in the same room I still wouldn't just leave my ship, with its taste pod center unattended in low/null, even if it was for 1 minute.

Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button.

People can't play multiple games? In fact, many EVE players are used to running multiple clients. What's the difference between that and running one more client with a different game?

Because how many people play say Battlefield 3 and a Total War game at the same time? People run multiple clients on EVE, but I bet a lot of them have 1 or 2 mininig or AFK mission running while another does something that needs their attention. And before people say "But people PvP with multiple accounts" most of them are just Falcon, booster or scouting alts which only need a little bit of attention. Eg: Need boosts? Jump your loki into the system then cloak it and go back to your other character.

BF 2142 was a awesome game and was released in 2006

Its way way better than dust. I downloaded dust, I wont even play it for free let alone pay a dime for it.

Graphics are terrible, gameplay is clunky, not enough vehicles. Its only half-done. Ohh and ofc its being developed for the PSU's massively outdated hardware.

Bombardment alts wouldn't need much attention. Heck, it could even attract people to EVE to make accounts for the sake of helping their Dustbunny friends gear up. Perhaps they want a break from missioning or something. They run their miners still, play Dust to get something with a bit more action. Besides, if people enjoy EVE, they aren't going to leave EVE for Dust, period. People play multiple different games all the time.

From the fact that the Xbawks720 and PS4 are both running perfectly standard PC hardware.

Yeah but you can spend 600 and build a gaming pc that is equal or better. Average pc gamer spends about 1500.

They are still using out of date tech. Btw x86 is 32 bit. It is hard to find non 64 bit systems now. Tbh the new consoles are a waste of money

I dont know if CCP have admitted it, or can see it yet, but they will end up releasing Dust514 for PC, it just makes too much sense.

The new PS4 has been announced to be based on x86 architecture, so any games that run on PS4 should be easy to port to PC, e.g. the Unreal engine it uses already runs on PC. So there really wont be an technical barriers, and there is a ready made market of EVE players without PS4 boxes that would be easy customers to gain.

The only think i can think of that will stop them is agreements signed with Sony for exclusivity, but even they would most likely have an expiry date.

EDIT: also the reason stated by CCP for not releasign to PC is that they want to target a different market, but wit hthe PS4 and PC hardware converging, other software will also, so their reason will disappear.

but ps4 won't play ps3 games...

and ps4 is just an iphone app anyway :P
