I play eve on my laptop at work (personal laptop) It doesnt work via the wifi here, but i can connect it via my 3G and through that i can do most no intensive activies (see ice mining)

However it wont let me patch through my phone, is there a location i can download the patch to a memory stick, and update my client from there? Of if i update it on my PC, is there certain files i can copy to trick the launcher into think ive patched it properly.

Any suggestions would be great.

edit: - left laptop at work tonight as i have something hooked up to it.

You can copy the patch file from your already patched PC on to a pen drive or similar and then copy the file back over to your laptop to update that. Look in the \CCP\Eve for the patch file and copy it into the same place on your other machine.

However it does depend on the following;

The original PC that you have already downloaded and patched must have the setting in the launcher ‘Delete patches after use’ unticked, otherwise the launcher will delete the patch file after completing the update.

Or you can start the launcher on the PC you have updated,
When it stops at the [Play] button look at the top right hand corner and you will see a very faint ‘Spanner and Screwdriver’ icon.
Click the icon and a window will open,
Click the tab ‘Patches’ and use the [Export] button to export the patch file to your pen drive.
Repeat on the other machine but use the [Import] button to import the file into the launcher.

NB: you may need to quickly click the icon on the importing machine while it is busy checking the files to start the import before the launcher starts the download.

The first way just copy and past the file is quicker but not everyone knows where the file(s) are stored.

Then I’m sorry but your big patch file is gone, it is one reason I always leave mine unticked I can download it to one computer (the one hardwired to our router) put it in a networked location and copy it to any computer on our home network.

However all is not lost you should be able to download just the patch file from here;

http://games.chruker.dk/eve_online/server_status.php

Look in the left column, right hand list, for the patch you need and download it to somewhere safe then copy and paste the file to your pen drive.

I'm in the same boat here, trying to use my personal laptop at work to mine, but I can get my laptop to work on the guest wi-fi in the building. Problem is it has a proxy built into it so I need to patch before I connect. I have copied the patch file over, but without the internet connection I can't get the launcher to run, is there a way to make patches actually apply outside of the launcher or get the launcher to run without the internet connection?
