I got a wicked gameing computer, but everytime a new patch comes out it always unsuccesfully doesnt download correctly this has happend 4 times now. with this patch alone even after running the repair exe. file.

I know this patch wasnt big. but seriously I know for sure its not my computer doing it. still got tons of space.

Anyone know what the problem can be?

And funnily enough my four year old take it out of the box and plug it in HP desktop has never had an issue with any patch CCP has ever done, even when I took a nine month break from the game.

Maybe it IS your computer, despite what you "know for sure".

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

If it's coming to computers, you can never be sure anything. Especially if you use Windows, it can't even properly spill out what's the issue when errors occur. For example you get a error like 00xx124!@EdZOMGNOPE1x or when you can't connect to the internet it tell you that "A problem occured, please click this link in order to browse the web for finding a solution".

It can be anything.

first time it happend i was at 99.1% of 3/4 then it happend. so now iam running repair again to see if it actually fixes the problem.
then will try patching again.

if not. 3 hours wasted of repairing and downloading client will be wasted, then 3 hours more of downloading full client again will be up ShockedSad

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

My laptop from 2005 runs EvE just fine. Are you sure you don't have some buggered settings on your computer?

Then obviously one of the peripherals is sub par. Likely the peripheral sitting at the keyboard.

Stop watching p0rn while downloading

Stop browsing dozen forum/internet pages while downloading

Stop playing whatever number of games while downloading

Stop MSN/Facecrap/Skype/whatever crap while downloading

Keep your computer up to date with a legal version also helps a little bit.

Just say'in.

It's quite possible that it's your tubes. If your area/house has high dispersion or you're a long distance from the access point, there could easily be corruption in the data stream. Corrupted data means it has to try again.

The problem like some have already said could be the result of many things and can be very frustrating when all you want to do is play the damn game.

I will list just some of the possibilities I run across in my time working with computers and the internet;

Your ISP could be using ‘traffic shaping’ servers to limit traffic flow at certain times and this could cause packet loss.

Your ISP could have a faulty traffic route that is causing packet delays or loss or allocating the data stream to the wrong stream.

You may have a fault at your local telephone connection that is causing data corruption before the stream gets to you.

Your modem/router/fibre/whatever connection may have faulty firmware and this is causing data corruption. Many routers now use ‘deep packet inspection’ to verify the data stream and it might get confused by the Eve data stream and reject packets.

The connection between your router and machine may have a fault, WiFi can be corrupted by other close units on the same frequency, hard wired connection can suffer ‘crosstalk’ and other odd ‘bleed-over ‘ type problems.

Your machine may be using a virus scanner that misinterprets the data stream and tries to ‘clean’ it thereby damaging it in the process. This often happens with packed files (zipped) like this because the virus scanner tries to scan the packed file by doing an ‘on the fly’ unzip and check as it’s saving the file.

The launcher may be unpacking the file incorrectly or the temporary area the file is being unpacked into may need clearing of other files before the file is unpacked. This often happens when the same area is used to unpack many versions of similar files.

As you can see by the above it could be your end it could be anywhere and I’m sorry to say the only person who can sort it is you. Slowly and methodically, good luck.

i just decided to re download the whole client again. forgot how boring it was. Im currently on Step 3/3 extracting files about 50% done. i know this is the longest of the steps for this part of the download.

If extracting the files is the longest part you don't have a "wicked" gaming computer since extraction speed is all based off your HDD which apparently isn't very good.

Actually that could be your issue if EVE runs into a problem writing to your HDD then it would cause data corruption. And don't even try to convince me you have a SSD since your extraction is "the longest part"
