I have checked the ideas threads and the 10,000 papercuts and this good suggestion seems to have been mislaid.

I would like to revive this suggestion please. It is a good and practical suggestion. Often times one would like to award a decoration to a Corp member who is part of an Alliance, but the Alliance is not able to award any decorations unless such corp members quit their corps, join a decoration-awarding corp, quit that and then rejoin their original corp.

Please, allow Alliance leadership to award decoration to member corporation pilots.

I fully support this. I recently had an occasion where two alliance pilots had performed some outstanding act of bravery, or suicidal madness, or something of that nature. The one in corp got a shiny medal. The other had to make do with an EVEmail saying "Thank You."

It's about time the alliance mechanics got some dev luvin'.

Best Idea in EVE Online ever!

Currently, all that can be done is have CEO's agree upon a 'visually' compatible decoration and apply it to thier membership individually. Sanctuary Pact recently had an ice drive, and I brought my crew down to mine ice with head office BGC. The prize was a decoration for most ice mined and sold to the mother corp. Really, even if I was a person who could win against such elite miners the contest reward would have seemed on the hollow side. The idea of an alliance deco is a good one...from what I have read, I
know the devs are working on tightening up and improving the alliance experience.
Wanted to add my support for an initiative like this, sounds like has to be added to DUST as functionality of planetary ops for a corp anyways. Keep up the good work btw CCP! Liking retribution 1.1 as well.

I like and support this idea. Could use some more flexible Alliance mechanics and possibly expand on the Corp mechanics.

A great idea! The executor corp needs more interaction with the individuals corps. Creating and Awarding medals is a greta first step. CCP please add this feature.

I would also like to be able to award medals to out of alliance/corp pilots (so long as they can reject them to weed out the trolling) for support of corp operations (for instance, when allies assist you in a wardec or the like).

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

Forum CTA isnt very nice thing to do.

Also Alliance is a military organization so there should be a chain of command. If you want to award a medal to a certain individual - contact his corp CEO or Director.

I agree that the option needs to be there for the leaders of an alliance to award individuals within the alliance. As well as groups (much like Military Units are awarded medals) of pilots or a Corporation that has fulfilled a great role or task for the alliance, should be recognized for that accomplishment. To work alongside of such great pilots and be able to recognize them for the hard work and dedication that they have put out, will bring pilots closer together and strengthen the family bond of the alliances.

This idea is one i would like to see come alive.

Would see a use for this. Alliances with big corporations behind do would definetly see a use of this.

The CSM minutes touched on new alliance options for groups. I am too lazy to bother linking things in here, hoping the alliance medals would be nice touch. Even being able to award an 'honorary distinction' to a non corp member wouldbe good. An elementary assesment would say that you would need checks to ensure the system wasn't abused.

For instance, endowing an insulting 'fart' deco without choice on someone without thier approving could be solved by having it accepted. Gives a nice defiant, moral high ground to someone who refuses on noble intentions to accept one. Make it more expensive to grant an out of corp/alliance decoration. Suggesting maybe 20 million for an alliance and 50 million for a pilot not in the corp? Could back fire, by making a foreigner more 'worthy' than your own folk. Or granting a decoration to a foreigner only after it has been granted a minimum number of times within your own corp. Just a bit of brainstorming in here. It is down time so waiting for server to start up again.
