One thing I've always wondered is why Goons have not lost their 0.0 sov or why no one is grouping to take them out in mass numbers. It's fair to say that Goons are the most hated alliance in EVE due to suicide ganking, scamming and other things.

So why has no one grouped up yet to take them out is what I wonder QuestionBig smile

Because no one can finance the fight except the Moon-goo cartel, and they have no reason to fight themselves....

If you want to destroy goons, just convince CCP to make the game so bad that we don't want to play anymore. Until then we will always be here so if you don't like it I invite you to close your eyes and violently pretend we aren't here.

Er who are you talking to again?

You sure it's goons people hate (goons sure seem to feed the line out) or the terrible mechanics that allow them to conquer the map with a single strategy that cant be beat. A zero ISK cost, game mechanic that has no upper limit, standings. Here's your real bad guy.

If they could only be 1000 strong, they wouldn't have made it out of high sec and folded many years ago. This mechanic is their back bone. Success is theirs to enjoy.

Not sure you have the right bad guy here Op.

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

#1 Effort

#2 having to cooperate with nerds and I'm too cool for that even though I play the same nerdy video game.

But honestly, mostly #2. I always wondered (for instances) why guys in the south would rather fight each other than team up and give goons/test whoever a run for their money. But big epic wars are WORK (especially for logistics coordinator guys) where as the minor regional stuff and mostly roaming is more fun.

Indeed. The null sec blue group is like the SouthPark Wow episode.
There is no one powerful enough to take them on given the current construct of the game, even the devs.
The blue group controls the most valuable resource in the game, and have an immense fleet of supercaps that no non-null group can combat.

I may hate the goons, their leadership, and everything they stand for, but I have to respect their organizational and political skills.
They have operated within the parameters of the game that CCP has laid out for them, and optimized their position.

The only way the blue group will ever be shaken from their position of dominance is if CCP actually radically changes the parameters of null sec, and given CCP's past inaction, I doubt very much CCP wants to break this strangehold.

CCP could very easily break this dominance, by making moon goo something that needs to be actively scanned and harvested, and by increasing supercap mfg costs by a factor of 20. But neither of those things will happen. The CSM would scream blue murder, and far too many devs/game designers have not forgotten their null sec roots.

RL example: USA is the most hated country in the World. Why it is still there and does its things?

Goons play together better than most others in the game.

Take away that ability and they'll find an out of game way of doing the same because THEY PLAY WELL TOGETHER!!

People shouldn't be penalized for playing a MMO game as a massively multiplayer game, it's almost like it's what you're meant to do.

The true problem isn't moon goo, standing, t2bpo, unicorns, whatever the latest accusation is. The real reason no one does this is a mixture of things

1) it's difficult
2) it'll cost people monies
3) you'll need to co-ordinate a lot of people (just look at how many <50 man corps there are in eve)
4) those people who do fight them (assuming you win) will want the spoils of war
5) people expect it to be fun and there's a large portion of sov warfare that isn't fun but neds to be done
6) the true value of moons is greatly exaggerated on the forums (especially when you're thinking of them as alliance assets rather than individual assets. 4bil a month for a neo moon is a lot for a single player, not so much if you're replacing ships for more than 50 players)
7) you're going to lose stuff before you gain anything.

Against ALL Authorities for example are no longer that existant and their friend alliances have mostly disbanded or swapped sides etc, thing is it is possible for stuff to happen. If for example a lot of people united together to fight against goons it would be possible to wipe out goons and their allies.
