...along with a lot of other weapon sound effects sound downright pitiful. Some guns sound neat, others sound like angry flashlights. In most cases, I preferred the old sounds to the new.

Is there any way to mod the sound files? Or will lasers forever be depressingly mediocre to me?

yup give link to file with old sounds . What i hear now just forces me to mute :<
