I was playing with the tutorial missions from Aura and noticed that the 2nd mission requires you use the ship given from the first missioni, but they don't give you any weapons. A new person would actually have to figure out how to buy one to fit to their new Reaper, or the mission won't be completeable.

Indeed. Found the same error and reported it to CCP.

This is something that happened with the last change of the tutorials. CCP knows about it, but as usual the change will be there Soon™...

Unofficial solution:

If you undock in your pod and dock in any station that doesn't have a ship, you get a rookieship (like the one from the first mission) but then WITH a gun and miner.

So, if you completed mission 1, then:

* Undock your ship.
* Stop your ship (hotkey: Ctrl-Space).
* Right click your HUD
* Select Eject ship
* Confirm pop up
* Redock your pod in station
* Receive a rookie ship (like the one from mission 1) but now WITH the civilian gun & miner

I did what J'Poll said even though the mission was not bugged for me, That way I got 2 guns and two miner lasers.

That's a nice little workaround for veterans. I do think they need to address it for the new folks, however, or quickly introduce them to the 'Pend replacement' ship mechanic. P

Plenty of helpful veterans have adressed this issue to CCP, lets just hope they change it very soon. As vets we do know the work around to the issue, but I can imagine that it might drive away some new players (as it's quite annoying that there is a bug only 5 minutes into the game).

I discovered it by accident.
I took about an hour in the character creator and then started the game. I did the undock your ship part and then my wife shouted me down for our eve meal so I docked before warping to the mission to get my ship and logged off. I then found a mail from some guy telling me I got an insurance company giving me a free ship when I logged back in. but the mission still carried on, so I got two ships and fitting sets.
Bonus!Big smile
