Why is my DPS low?

I was fitting my Ferox, looked up some ideas on BC.... found a fit that was almost the exact same as one I had been running a while back. Guess my shock when this guy claims he gets 750 DPS with 4 neutron blasters and 2 ions mounted! He claims to get 640 DPS with no implants. I have 9.5 million SP in gunnery, BC skill is lvl5 AND I am running TWO implants that increase my damage done my 3%... so six percent extra damage. I also have 3 t2 mag field stabs mounted.... what am I doing wrong? With void loaded and 6 neutron turrets I still only get 600 DPS....

I read this elsewhere...when posting DPS, most people use their highest damage versus weakest resist on BC, and often overheated. Others just flat out lie, because even with implants and perfect skills, the shown DPS just isn't possible.

Funny, I just made a thread in Ships & Modules about the crap fits posted on that site. Looks like I'm not the only one having issues with it.

640 without the drones and implants. I dont see him getting over 100 extra DPS with the limited drone capacity of the Ferox.

Rapid Light Missile Launcher II, Mjolnir Fury Light Missile

Medium Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I
Medium Core Defense Field Extender I

Hobgoblin II x5

About 686 raw DPS with perfect skills, about 775 if you overheat the weapons. I don't think you can really squeeze much more out of the Ferox without either gimping the fit or using lots of bling.

EFT DPS is never Applied DPS.

Well of course but its useful as a way to compare fits or to see what you can expect to get out of a hull. Personally I feel that the extra range of Null results in more applied DPS in a larger number of situations, especially on the Ferox with its range bonus.

What I mean is that braggarts will give you their EFT overheated DPS to impress.

some not so bright people also use overloaded dps stats.

9.5 mil in gunnery isn't anything to sniff at, but have you really maxed all of the necessary skills? I still lack a few level 5 specs and I see an odd 10-30 dps disappear sometimes.

Yes, weapon upgrades, rapid firing, motion prediction and gunnery are all lvl5. My medium blaster specialization is at lvl 5. I have no gunnery skills, except for small arty specialization, below lvl 4.

I too rack my brain over DPS claims. Once I finally got my skills up, I realized a lot of people spout off BS.

It's the Internet. Who knew?

Also a lot of the DPS people mention is with reload time turned off. That adds a little bit more to the paper DPS

Once upon a time:.

I went on battleclinic.com to search for PVP fittings, I found most fittings to be grossly exadurated, I wanted a simple cane PVP and what I got was a faction fitted loadout, keep in mind this was a long time ago.

Last year I trained for a Paladin, I went to battleclinic and searched for "Paladin lvl 4" all I got where faction fitted, 3-5B isk pieces of ****.

I went onto EFT, made my own fitting with 1500 DPS, 900 DPS tank for 17 min at 1.4B isk
I MEAN SERIOUSLY no one could come up with this **** over 10 years?!?!

Its a very useful site, just take it with a grain of salt, its not 100% trustworthy because its there for you to learn how to fit ships from day 1 period.
