Paladin? Or do I need to take it that far? Could it be a faction BS? Please advise, and post some fitting.

With all the complaining about NPC TDs that's been going on lately, I'd try a sentry Rattlesnake, or maybe even the Golem or CNR. That is, if you're going to run all missions with the same boat. If it weren't for that, I'd be on the Nightmare bandwagon.

(Caveat: Haven't run missions in a year)

EDIT: All of these ships have fairly standard fittings. I suggest you search!

N. Geddon. Guns with 25% rof bonus (aka 33% dps bonus) plus bandwidth for a full flight of 5 sentries along with spare room for 5 mid/small drones. 1.3k dps. Cost around 70mil more than an Abaddon.

NM works too...Big smile

I am currently flying an Abaddon for level 4's. I've tried the Apoc and Napoc as well but always find myself going back to the Abaddon despite its cap issues :)

Here is my fit.

742.9 dps without drones, 51km optimal range with an optimal range script. As for the best ship, I'm about a week away from being able to fly the nightmare properly and will switch to it once the skills are good enough. Gotta use Tachys on the NM though.

Mach, more dps, better mobility all in all simply better than the rest.

Faction fit nightmare with faction tach (less cap than T2).

Once you go nightmare, you never go back.

Funny, cause I'be been there and done just that. Sad truth is the nightmare is fairly bad nowadays. Yes, it excells at extreme ranges, however there are virtually no missions that require long ranges, the few that do end up requiring mobility rather than range.

For anything other than missions, albeit possibly going somewhat off topic, the nightmare again lacks. Plexes are somewhat out of the question as there are few it's very apt to do thanks to it's massive sig and relatively poor tank compared to other options(Such as sleip or loki, or even paladin). For belts mobility is once again key and range is suddenly virtually useless. For anomalies it's a bit closer, the nightmare can do really well, but again the paladin tends to come out on top, here due to tracking being less important than tank, and well, the free em harderner from armor tanking is to much to pass on.

I still have a nightmare or two lying around, there just isn't any use at all for it anymore. It's one of those myths.

Another voice for the Nightmare. In Amarr space the Nightmare is King, Queen and all of the Princes all in one ship. Anyone trying to tell you the Machariel is better in Amarr space doesn't understand falloff mechanics.

Faction Tachyons with IN Multifrequency crystals on a Nightmare do more DPS than a Machariel, and at longer ranges.

this. i can warp in @100 into blockade and start projecting ~800 effective dps as soon as i have locked the first target. the mach will only be better between 0 and ~25-30km and even then it's mostly because of better tracking.

I should buy an Ishtar.

Personally I prefer a Pulse Paladin. I tried a Tach Nightmare for a while, but just couldn't get on with it. Scorch offers the perfect range for tractor beams, and switching to a couple of optimal scripts puts that up to 65km or so optimal if needed. At the time salvaging/looting (while not increasing mission times) felt like it was worth it over the tracking bonus and extra damage mod the Nightmare offered so I ruled out a Pulse Nightmare too.

I ran this, with a spare low slot for damage mod/hardener/damage control depending on the mission.
