Audio warnings - Ore hold

Whenever I get a chance to work at home, i tend to put eve on in the background and semi-afk mine just responding to the audio warnings. Whilst there seems to be a good covering of status changes in game (cargo hold full/astroid depleted/docking/jumping/etc.) however one that seems to be missing is for when the ore holds are full. Would it be possible to add a warning for this and any similar missing warnings i haven't noticed, if there are others overlooked?

Then they should make your ship warp to station, unload, fly back to the belt and start mining again.

I mean, why should you be bothered to pay any attention at all to the game. You pay your 15 like everyone else and should be able to play how you want.

They should make you press a random series of keys every 30 seconds instead.

Dude make a spreadsheet, calculate time needed to fill hold/switch asteroids and look at the clock from time to time. AFK mining really does not need more ease of use tweaks

Wanna bet he's mining ice?

A better idea would be to make ice mining more like belt mining; then he'd have to pay attention every 3 minutes or so and will know when his hold is going to be full.

Find out how long it takes to fill your hold, set a timer with an alarm.

Problem solved.

I have had the same thought, but I think CCP intentionally left off that feature. Those of us who AFK mine appreciate our right to do so, but seriously, it is only an end to a means. In the meantime, there are many other less profitable activities in the game which involve much more risk, MUCH more attention, and are just as essential or more essential to the overall community of EVE.

Now... AFK mining is a rather hated activity, and for valid reasons. It is also done by a large group of players, for valid reasons.

But no matter what your particular excuse is for AFK mining, if you do ANY other ISK-making activity in EVE, you should be willing to recognize that AFK mining does not need any more buffs or helps than it already has. I don't even mine ice, and I know that. Making ISK is easy enough while mining, to make it any easier would be unfair to players who use other (and generally much more enjoyable) methods for earning ISK.

EVE is called a game for a reason, and I'm sure CCP doesn't want to distract us from that fact. Once again, I think they left the voice prompt off intentionally, and for good reason.

@ Caldari 5 - Yes, it does! I know it's hard to believe.

@ OP - No. Absolutely not. You're AFK mining, you're not entitled to maximum efficiency. If you want maximum efficiency, then pay attention to the game. You're lucky that someone hasn't come along to gank your ship and then your pod. After making a post here on the forums though, talking about how you AFK mine (you're alt-tabbed, functionally it's as good as being AFK), I wouldn't be surprised if you get a visit from a certain specific group that lives to prey on miners.

This is a quality of life change that doesnt affect game mechanics. This is a good idea. EVE ships give you warning when your are low on shields, armor, hull. Thats a quality of life change as well (that we didnt have) that semi AFK mission runners use.

Isn't there an audio warning for when your lasers turn off from this? I even think it's someone talking in English.

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Thank you.

========

Also, stop alt-tabbing into Facebook. Or, pick between your Farmville eggplants and Glacial Mass.

Thank you.

P.S. Your mining methods are mayhem. MAYHEM !!!

Yea, I think you are right. It does say something when the bay is full.

Yeah. I just tested it out. I went out with a full venture ore hold -1m3 of space taken out. When the LASERS TURNED OFF DUE TO THE HOLD BEING FULL (what the OP asked for) there is a nice (slightly erotic) voice telling me that the lasers turned off.

Worst case scenario, one or more of the lasers will go for a full cycle (ohnoes! not up to 3 entire minutes!) before the audio message that you may fap to is played.

So, the OP didn't get exactly what they asked for. But an audio message is in the game none-the-less.

Have fun being alt-tabbed to Facebook while you are 'working at home'.

Thank you.
