I do exploration for income and keep running into Gallente 4/10 and Phi outposts I simply can't handle in my Algos, my drone skills are getting there (I can use Tech 2 drones) but the rest of my skills and the ship itself just isn't up for the job. So I'm looking to scale up but at the same time trying to stay as "small" as possible to retain access to the lower "level" sites and because of that a Myrmidon is kinda out of the question. The standard Vexor and also the Navy one (which doesn't seem to be all that different) look a bit "light weight" for the job and the only other option I learned of is the Gila but I'd like to avoid having to train non-Gallente skills (also because it's ugly, style matters :P).

are there any other options for a relative new player (I have isk to burn so no problem there) who'd like to stick to Gallente? Perhaps there are some tips&tricks to actually do these sites with a vexor that might help?

It WAS possible in Vexor, but now your drones will be annihilated. Gila + sentry drones can do it easily. If you want pure Gallente, then train for Ishtar (it's basically armor-tanked Gila) or Proteus (can use only 4 sentries but it's enough; also it is much more versatile, mostly pvp-ish though).

Vexor can still run it, though its very slow, dual rep myrm, pretty much anything with at least 25 band and 50 m/3 drone bay can run it.

its all about moving.

Its not possible to please all the people all the time, but it sure as hell is possible to Displease all the people, most of the time.

Corp-mate of mine said he was able to run them in a Vexor as of last week so it seems like its still possible

Gallente Assaultfrigs can run the Serpentis Phi-Outpost with relative ease.
The natural resists are so damn good, that combined with the low sig and tremendous dps small neutron blaster can pump out, you basically just go in, orbit the Overseer at 500 and kill him.

Both, Ishkur with 5x Smalldrones and Railguns, aswell as Enyo with Blasters (or Ishkur with Blasters) will kill it. Your tank consists out of a small repper and a thermic membrane, should be enough as long as you keep afterburning around.

DPS needed is somewhere in the range of 250+, so better get blasters if your drone skills / gunnies aren't pretty good.
