Trade Window Scams

So apparently.Trade window does NOT operate as advertised.I have had several people call me a liar.(and 3 who laughed and said of course you can change after accept..is a well kept secret.but there is a way).According to CCP when terms of a trade are accepted if the other party makes a change you must re-accept.[[[ THIS IS NOT TRUE ]]] .Experienced scammers have a way to cause a delay that allows them to make changes. Beware..NEVER USE TRADE WINDOW..I for 1 will not be using trade window anymore.
I sincerely hope that CCP takes the time to correct this situation.regardless of the outcome (unless they are super-fast responding to my petition) this will have cost CCP 1 sub (coincidence has 1 of my accounts up for re-newal in 1 day).I will NOT be pulling out my credit card to pay for ANY accounts until this is resolved.And any account that drops training time as a result will NOT be re-newed.So in less than 1 day they lose 1 sub( the account is new enough it will hurt them more than me)
Truth be told.I love the game so my 2 main accounts will stay.but they may just lose the 3 subs that are my fluff accounts.
And until I see some effort on the part of CCP to be honest about the many many UI flaws,I will not be making any more accounts.

It's been that way for the last 6 years (as long as I've been playing but probably since the beginning of time) so I wouldn't hold my breath Pirate

Any time anyone wants to do something not through the usual channels, there is a reason, and it is almost always "because i'm about to scam you".

Anyways, trade window scam is older then i have been playing this game. Quess why no experienced player uses trade window....

oooh another whine thread about someone who fell for the ancient trade scam that has been in EVE for a very very very long time.

I can tell you exactly what CCP's response will be:

Logs show nothing

or / and

Working as intended.

Really, people all over EVE warn and know about the trade window scam, yet you fell for it.
Does this mean that the game mechanic is broken: Hell no.
Does this mean you should have looked up rule no 2 of EVE (in case you didn't know it;s: Don't trust anyone): Yes
Does this mean that this is just a typical emo raging thread: Yes
Does this mean that falling for that trade window scam is all your own fault: Yes
Does this mean that nobody (including CCP) will miss that one sub: Yes

Please, if you make an error cause of your own damn fault. Don't come whine on the forums and accept that error

It seems the general opinion (amongst older players) Is that despite the fact that this game mechanic does NOT work as CCP describes.It works as they intend.If that is truly the case why would they continue such a farce?
Would it not be fair to give a complete and accurate description of all game mechanics?..NO..as it has recently been described to me.."this is but one of many checks and balances to ensure that new players do not accumulate wealth too rapidly"..And I did a double take .."huh-wha" I stared blankly at the screen while I processed this information. I find this tid-bit a little too far fetched to believe.In a game economy as large as EVE this would seem rediculous.
Let's be clear what we are talking about for those that missed it. When in a trade with another player..AFTER trade is accepted the other party should NOT be able to change terms of the trade.ANY change made by either party should require additional action on the part of the other party.PERIOD
The fact that CCP claims this is how the system works (incorrectly) is my problem.They should state clearly that while in trade window you are vulnerable to last second changes that are not subject to your approval.

The trade window mechanics don't apply to contracts, contract scams are a whole other ball game.

If it looks too good to be true, it's a scam 99.99(recurring)% of the time.

btw...please cry some more.

I just tried transfering a MWD from my alt to me and paying my alt 50 ISK for it.
If my alt accepts the trade and I then change that 50 ISK to 40 ISK my alt HAS to accept it once again.

So neither party can alter the trade after the others have accept it without the other party having to accept the new trade circumstances.

You just made an error and can't deal with the hard place that is EVE. Maybe it's not the game you are looking for.

I am locking this thread as a rant as well as being in the wrong forum. If you have legitimate problems with how the trade window operates, as well as methods to fix that issue, please post in the Features & Ideas forum.
