I was wondering where the 'intelligent' design crowd were until I read the article and saw some dingbat's comment about irreducible complexity and the other hokey buzzwords the ID crowd throw around.

Yeeee!

Those folks and their ideas are one of the scariest things to emerge from America in my lifetime.

How they so successfully and easily get textbooks changed is truly frightening.

I picture a herd of those rat things powering my Megathron. Mush! Mush!

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

even though humans are tied to a whole subphylum by features like a spinal column, muscles over a skeletal frame, and blood, it's understandable that it's difficult to accept this image of a rat

if a person can stomach looking at the rat in this light, the next step is learning that keratin is in scales, feathers, and hair.

for some people, it's easier to sleep at night if they reject the idea that we missed evolving into a rat millions of years ago. ...and it's probably in everyone's best interest they do.

i don't agree. the bible is actually, for the most part, a thrilling read of personal drama, horrific killings, cities being razed to the ground, moments of extreme personal sacrifice, drawing upon ones inner strength to accomplish deeds of great magnitude, of people that stood up and collectively said "this is bullshit." and rose above horrible subjugation.

a whole ancient tale of a classic world of decadence. sex, greed, violence, love, hate, murder, betrayal, compassion, miracles damnation and redemption are all within its pages. everything we have come to expect out of our cable television shows.

No.

The people who take it seriously and literally and try to impress it on others who don't want a thing to do with it are horrible.

Dawwwww. I miss the long furry tail. But check out that nasty armor-plated bug it's chasing. I'm glad we don't need to chew on those anymore.

I've long suspected that some of the people I've known were rats. This just confirms it.

Surrender is still your slightly less painful option.
