The tradition of Community Spotlights continues 2013; this time we would like to present you an exciting story of opportunities, fun and new players.

What fascinates someone about EVE Online? Large scale massive battles? Metagaming? Politics involving tens of thousands of people? Or is it the freedom of choice you have in EVE Online and the fact that you can set your own rules in this game world? Whatever it is, there are many different ways to have fun in EVE Online!

Fun ... that is what many new and veteran players experience in EVE Online, but only few have such an incredible amount of fun as the following new group of people. It is inspiring to see how this brand new people take EVE Online as it is and thus create an universe of fun and excitement.

Great stuff, for number #13 you should put the community spotlight on Aliastra or some other NPC corp.
Oh wait despite being around for 10 years, NPC corps don't result in any interesting or emergent content and instead actively stifle it to put newbies in a riskless, contentless and ultimately unappealing gameplay style that kills user retention.

Ban NPC corps.

If EVE is supposed to be as harsh as some people think, don't ban them, just allow people to join any of them apart from the school ones, force players out of the school corps after they are over 3 months or so old, and allow all but the school corps to be wardecced.

I jumped into Brave Newbies in time for the Hek Siege yesterday night, definitely some of the best fun I've ever had in EVE. Zipping around in a cheap Slasher getting hero tackle and warpins on wartargets with safespots so we could bring in the Thrasher Blob of Doom.

Quite the contrary, we have quite a long queue and very interesting initiatives from the community; and we are excited to present them all to a larger audience.

Which doesn't mean that we cannot report about emergent game play and watching it live how it develops. Maybe everything will be over tomorrow, maybe this will grow into something much larger and might last for years. EVE Online is unscripted and the foundation is a passionate player base together with all the fascinating things they are doing - that's why we also want to show that completely new players in EVE Online can archive something wonderful and can have great fun.

Phantom could you please fix the numerous typos and also the discontinuities and wrong choices of words.

Also the link in the 'dawn in Hek' picture is wrong, it is: http://cdn1.eveonline.com/www/newssystem/media/64174/1/Brave_Newbies_Inc._on_the_roll_small.jpg where as it should be http://cdn1.eveonline.com/www/newssystem/media/64174/1/Brave_Newbies_Inc._on_the_roll.jpg

Nice to see CCP found yet another example to support its goals to "dumb-down" the game:

"Certainly there are also hurdles to overcome and when asked about them, Matias mentioned his priority number one: accessibility. He considers EVE Online having by far the most ***complex*** game interface he has ever seen, and he wants things to be much more intuitive. Also he wants to see sandbox elements which certainly exist within the game to be more easily accessible, as they seem to be ***difficult*** if not even nigh-impossible to find for a new player."

"Intuitive" and "accessible" is one thing. Dumb and childish is another.

I hope CCP goes for the former.

Also, seriously, this monotonous banter of "unscripted", "emergent", "player-driven", non-"pre-written and determined quest", and "butterfly or sandbox effect" game play is getting boring.

Marketing department can we have some new buzz words, please?

You should stop rambling about what you can't do (attack NPC corps etc.) and focus on what you CAN do.

If a guy can create so much content and FUN 6 days into the game and attract hundreds of content makers, then you can do the same without spending your life obsessed with NPCs.
