The latest devblog located here: http://community.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&nbid=74234

Explains that 47 days worth of skills will be added to existing command ship pilots, for those of us doing mission in Command ships, that is Two months of zero income.

CCP made their claim here: http://community.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&nbid=9129

Going back on their word here:
http://cdn1.eveonline.com/www/newssystem/media/64158/1/SkillCommandShip.jpg

Resulting in a Per/Willpower remap player looking at
47d, 3h, 29m, 28s of training before they can start playing EVE again.

CCP has effectively wasted PVE commandship pilots for two months of gameplay, Mugged them for 2 months worth of isk, and $30 USD.

Now with 100% less Troll.

You need all the X Warfare skills to V after the change...?

Huh, interesting.

Wait, no you don't. As long as you have the command ship skill, you'll be fine even without the preqreqs for the skill.

My understanding is you're still supposed to be able to fly them, just new players won't be able to without those skills and you can't train further without them.

Yes, comparing them, currently if you can fly them you would have Battlecruiser V and Command Ship 1.

Afterwards, you'll still have Command Ship 1 and then be given Amarr BC V. So you can use the command ship, still.

If you are flying command ships now, you can still fly them after the changes.

It only changes things for people who train command ships after the changes, ie. people who can't fly it 'today'.

When CCP first announce the skill reconfiguration, they made they reassurance of "If you can fly it before the patch, you can fly it after the patch", paraphrasing (what Tom wrote is the more accurate quote), of course. I'm a little disheartened myself, because it was a promise made in haste. I knew about the Destroyer and Battlecruiser skill reconfiguration, but they really went to town on so many more that initally had no mention. What?

They are changing the prerequisites of training the Command Ships skill. If you already have the Command Ships skill, the altered prerequisites does nothing except prevent you from training Command Ships higher.

Partially true. You don't lose the ability to fly the ship, but you do lose the ability to continue training that skill. (But it's under review.)

Just to clarify one valid question.

  • Even if the prerequisites change, you can still fly the ship as long as you had the main skill before the overhaul. This is not in question here.
  • However, if the prerequisites change, you cannot train the skill until the new prerequisites are met.

  • Ex:

  • You have Amarr Freighter 1 after the change but not Advanced Spaceship Command 5. You can still fly the Providence, but not train Amarr Freighter past 1 until you have Advanced Spaceship Command 5 trained.

  • We are considering changing this so you can still train the skill even after the prerequisites are changed, we'll keep you posted as soon we have an answer.

afaik, you have the skill, you can fly the ship. They aren't going to take it away from you just because you don't have the prereqs. This functions exactly the same way losing a level of a prereq skill for 'some ship' in which you still have the primary skill.

You might want to pay attention to that med clone thing in there, or you may find yourself without some skills you had previously though.

Cannot be said to be partially true, unless by fly, you mean (continue training the skill, which you have at a rank that allows you to) fly

Tom, you're a dumbass...

To fly a command ship you need only Racial Battlecruiser 5 and Command Ships 1, nothing else.

Any other skills you see on that list are prereqs to only those skills and not the ship itself.

Skill DO NOT suddenly stop working or untrain themselves because a prereq disappears....

In this way, in the current system, it means you can get podded, lose BS 5, and still pilot all your carriers. If you're too dense to get it as text then go try it on SiSi with some large level 5 skills that is sued as some other pre req....

Now for the love of God change the name of this thread away from the silly falsehood and request for its locking.....

So I won't get my leadership skills bumped up to 5 with the Command ship change but I will still be able to fly a command ship.

So, Tom, I have a serious question for you.

Are you trying too hard to be earnest in these questions, or trying too hard to look serious while trolling?!? Can't tell, but you're getting quite prolific lately. Just get back from a ban?
