I'm curiose if this has ever been discussed. I always watch sci-fy flicks and TV shows and it seems there is always someplace to hide from sensors. EVE already has dead space where you require the use of an acceleration gate but what about nebulas, dense gas clouds, large holes in asteroids (Space Slug from Star Wars comes to mind), or even dense areas of wreckage. These could be scannable via probes or ship scanner or on grid with celestials or asteroid belts. Each can have their own perk (i.e. - not targetable, off local, off d-scan, off grid, etc.).

This would integrate another dimension in tactics. I realize this would add to the learning curve but it makes things interesting for us vets. Plus you could only put it in WH and NS space. Thoughts?

Its called cloaking. There is much butthurt about it, so get your fill before the nerfhammer gets dropped to appease the peons.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

cloaking is different. You can't hide a fleet in a cloaky ship.

I live in a C6. Cloaking is apart of daily life for me.

Adding 'space terrain' has been discussed in quite a few topics in the Features and Ideas Discussion Forum, where this thread belongs. I would suggest you do a Forum Search.

In basic terms, most discussion was around:

1) Local Intel would make this a pointless exercise (i.e. hiding fleets for ambushes etc); and
2) Difficulties of implementation on a coding level.
