ISSUE: Explain your issue
FIX: How do you suggest we fix it?

Hope this thread is still checked.

ISSUE: Unable to repack and sell items from cargo.
FIX: Allow to repair and sell items from cargo.

ISSUE: Too many operations to sell items.
FIX: Allow us to automatically repair and repack while clicking "Sell".

ISSUE: Drones in dronebay are not organised after use.
FIX: Auto-repacking repaired drones with every docking. Auto-grouping drones in drone bay.

ISSUE: Selling many a lot of drops/salvage is too tedious.
FIX: Create a system to sell multiple items at once. Select group, Right Click -> Sell. Then a spreadsheet appears with following tabs: | Item | Amount | Sell Price | Average Price | % of Average | Amount*SellPrice |. For each position there is a "Sell" button. At the bottom there is a "Sell Everything" button.

ISSUE: Hard to track all your items without a lot of containers.
FIX: Allow us to create groups in inventory. Groups should have an unlimited size. Searching through inventory should have checkboxes "Search inside groups".

ISSUE: There are no visual difference between Inventory/Cargo/Dronebay.
FIX: Make Inventory/Cargo/Dronebay some distinctive visual styles so it will be easier to differenciate them.

ISSUE: On some courier missions new players often forget to put quest item into cargo.
FIX: Make a warning at hitting Undock that only appears if you have recently taken courier mission from local agent and item that should be delivered is not in your cargo.

ISSUE: If you loot/salvage on your PvE ship your cargo is a mess.
FIX: Allow us somehow separate ammo loaded to cargo and looted stuff.

ISSUE: Sometimes it is very hard to find recently bought/dropped items.
FIX: Make a filter to see "Only New items" for those that was placed in that inventory tab in last 5-15 minutes.

ISSUE: This is not an issue as such, it is more of a feature request.

When you open the ship's cargo hold in space, you get a nice option that says 'enable compact mode'. This is very useful and I use it whenever I am undocked.

However, if you try to put the window in a tab with a different window, such as combining it with your watch list or drone bay, this option disappears and the window turns back into the 'regular', cluttered inventory window. I am hoping this is possible to change, so that I can merge my cargo hold with other windows whilst still keeping it in 'compact mode'.

FIX: Allow compact mode even when UI windows are tabbed with other windows, such as bookmarks, watch list, and/or drone bay.

ISSUE: Everything is everywhere i am unable to sort my thing way i want it
FIX: Let us create "folders" in cargo (filters would also work if we could create them but i prefer folders)

I also got one more suggestion considering fitting screen and saved fits. If i sit in Jita and i want to buy a fit for a ship i need to do it manually and it takes some 5min to put it all together. Put an option in saved fits so i can automatically buy everything i need from market in docked station (or other stations). It would go something like this. I open saved fit, press market details button (or some other fancy name) and new window opens up listing every item in fit with current lowest buy price in station/system with buy option near every item. That way it's possible to buy already saved fit in just a seconds.

*Sort by Stack ISK Value*

ISSUE: Although we can "Sort by Quantity" when searching for items in the hanger, we need to mouse over every stack to see if something is worth enough ISK to warrant selling/reprocessing. This is a very time-consuming process when you have >500 items in the hangar and wish to sell them. One of the filter options lets you limit the view for "Estimated Unit Price", but this will only remove all the items bellow/above your specific price according to the ISK value of an individual item - it does not consider the total value of the stack.

FIX: Add a "Sort by Stack ISK Value" to the right-click 'sort by' menu.

I would love the ability to see market deliveries in my assests or just a way to see the location of where I have things located in market deliveries.

One thing I've been thinking about. How about giving us more control over size in the various windows. Always when im on a laptop, i find that the images on items are too big, but i don't want to look at a list. Maybe a button like, small and big icons of items?
I'd also love if we had more control over where windows close and open. I find my self rearranging windows all the time, since they arent comming back where they were closed. I'd also like to see a 120-110-100-90-80 ratio on the whole ui size. When the option to turn it to 90 came, I had a very good day *hinthint* Could you also make it possible to fiddle with the size of the targeting interface? I like that you can do what you can do, i just want to be able to make it wither bigger or smaller. preferably both.

Could we add some colour/text costumazation options to logg info that scroll over your screen. I also want to be able to rearrange the position of absolutly everything on my screen that is related to UI...

Edit: only a small portion relates to the inventory ui, but in my world the inventory ui is in relation ship with the rest of the ui. for one to work, the rest must be altered.

ISSUE: While searching through the market browser, you find something you might like to buy and then think to yourself 'Hey, I wonder if I already have one somewhere?.' So, you go to assets, type in the item you want to look for and occasionally mispell the name of the item, which returns a result of you not having any (obviously).

FIX: When you search through the market browser, you can right click on any item listed there (like you already can) and not only get the current 'Show Info' and 'Add To Market Quickbar' options but also get a new option of 'Search Personal Assets'. Selecting this new option would invoke the opening of your personal assets window at the search tab with the full item description entered in the 'Search Text' box for your convenience (with the correct spelling) and all you then have to do is hit the search button.

It's one of those bells and whistles that helps to keep us bitter old vets pacified.

I have some gripes about the Assets window (Alt-T).

  1. As a trader I often sell remotely. If the highest bidder is only buying part of the lot I have the assets window doesn't adjust its size to account for the latest sale. This stops me from selling to the next highest bidder, as the selling window takes the lot size from the assets window and not from the stack in my hangar. When I try to complete the trade it reports there are not enough items and the trade fails. I would need either to wait for up to 5 mins for the assets window to be refreshed or go to the station to do the trade, negating the whole point of remote trading.
  2. I had items delivered to a station to complete the requirements for an exchange contract. The contract refused to complete because although there was enough of a certain item, it was in two piles. The contract checking doesn't add the piles together for the purpose of checking and fails the contract.
  3. I could not complete another contract because it required 1 of an item and I had 2 of that item in a single stack. The checking algorithm failed to recognise it as valid and refused to complete the contract.

To address these problems.

  1. The assets window needs to be updated whenever it's used to do a remote trade.
  2. The window needs to allow the player to join two or more stacks of the same item, in the same way as the Stack all function in the user's hangar.
  3. Also, the ability to split stacks is required, in the same way as the contract window allows a stack to be split remotely.

Need an option for selling multiple stuff in one go! Before you confirm the sale, a list with highest buy/sell price per item, avarage price per item, total sell price, and the ability to check - or uncheck items you decide not to sell to buyers, as the info you find in the list says you should rather sell it as a "seller" or even reprocess.

Another thing I would like is an "avarage price per item" in the inventory's column header, when I list items. Would make it easier to see what loot I want to take with me if I got limited cargo space.

Give us a "Sell All" option for the countless stuff from salvaging and looting. Tired of wasting TONS of time selling each individual item. Yea i know I could accidentally sell something I dont want too, but hey I should have checked - right? Seriously we need this.

Not sure if this has already been mentioned but i would like to see two things integrated in the UI:

1. A way to esearch system names without having to open up the starmap. make it easier to set destinations for systems quickly.

2. A possible "Quick List" of favorite systems and destinations, so that you can just drop down the menu (again without having to open the map) and select the right systems.

Fix the container settings already. I'm tired of resizing and resetting each container each time I log into game.
This drove me from the game last time, and it's going to do that again now.

I just wanted to say that the inventory is working for me in pretty much every way it used to be, save I still miss the old button to open the corp hanger that was on the station services window, but I do think it was kind of out of place.

Not a major issue, but I would like it if my corp hanger was overtop of the station services window by default. The way it works now, I have to click on my corp hanger window every time I dock to see the inventory tree, as it and my station services panel are in the same space. I will try and just move the station panel somewhere else.. but as you may know there are a lot of windows in eve, and when you take in to account space / docked / PI / Etc. it can be a pain to get a setup that works right all the time.

Congrats on getting the new inventory to work like the old one! I hope you didn't have too dump to much spaghetti on top of your nice new code to get it this way! =P

Other then that, all I would like to see is more options in the filter menu. I still can't quite get it to filter ammo like I would like. Volume per item instead of by stack or ammo by size should do the trick

ISSUE: Clicking the "Inventory [Alt-C]" button in-station defaults to current ship cargo hold with no way to change this behavior that I can find. Even leaving the window open, un-docking, and docking again the window doesn't remember what you were previously viewing, and instead goes right back to showing your current cargo hold.

FIX: Allow a default to be set, either to current ship cargo hold, items hangar, or ship hangar. Possibly even corporate hangar as an option.

This is the absolute #1 most annoying thing in EVE currently, in my opinion.

ISSUE: Inventory window in detail view does not show blueprint stats (like the blueprint tab does in the science and industry window). This creates a problem making sure the correct blueprint is selected when being moved around when multiple blueprints of the same type exist but each may have different stats. This makes it very difficult to pick the right blueprint to move it around between containers.

FIX: Add a couple of optional columns to the detail view in any inventory window that shows ME and PE levels for blueprints. The columns would only be populated for blueprints and offer the same sorting options as in the blueprint tab in the science and industry tab.

ISSUE: Wasted manpower on UI development

SOLUTION: Allow talented users to release their own UI's like a number of relatively modern games and then allow players to pick the UI that suits them the most.

Blizzard did this and it worked wonders for WoW, gone was the crappy and basic UI hello full customisation how the player wanted it, since every person was different.

Why after 10 years CCP feels the continuing need to update the UI rather than just work on the game is beyond me. If you really must tinker with the inventory, allow sorting by module type, high, mid, low etc materials etc. I would presume this would mean customising every item in the game to suit so it not very likely.

well, inevitably, CCP
will be swarmed, with people demanding
that you dumb down the EVE . .

Give it 10 years, and we will be playing with our foreheads..
I have seen various massive on line role playing games go this way.

What they all never did was the following.

-> Offer 2 ways <-

Y?

There is always this over bearing one way path for everything.

What could possibly be wrong with offering an option in the escape menu,
that offers the player a choice between interface version x or, interface version, y.

You could even expand upon that option, by letting x become more RP proned / orieneted,
: have rediculuse options that would make a pvp-er vommit.

Yet,
and get this ,
AMAZINGlY
!!DEFYING PHYSICS!!,
-> offering interface version y <- Shocked

interface Y could be proned to deal with these inevitable, ZOMBIES,
by offering ground down
" It works with your fist and face, by applying fist & face to keyboard "

Think of this ,
WHat i am describing, as an equation that moves over time,
the solution is understanding that there is no one solution to the needs
of everyone.

Hence, in conclusion, the question you asked
" How should we improve the inventory UI? " is illogical, for you are trying to solve something with only one perception point, in mind.
