if destroyers are supposed to kill frigs they should be able to take on more then one of them... atm 2 rifters can kill a coercer no problem


dessies need long range and very high tracking with low damage and speed, this makes them worthless vs cruisers and can easily take on frigs

Thrasher, currently:

destroyer skill: +10% tracking, +5% damage for small.

Role: 50% optimal range boost. -25% ROF (which is going away)


so, pretty much, they have that :) Though the optimal for projectiles tends to suck anyway

Not really, 2 Ruptures can off a Hurricane which is built to kill Cruisers.

The Destroyer class in general has kind of been ignored. What I think would be great is to add in a similar fasion to Battlecruiser class is 2 more tiers in a effort to mirror the BC line up. For example the Catalyst & Brutix are big DPS boats/ both have lots of guns.

The Tier 2 Myrmidon has more tank with less guns etc - (Insert name Tier 2 Dessie here) will have more tank/ drop a couple high turret slots for more mids and lows and either more speed or HP.

Tier 3 as it stands now will be the new lead into the next size of ship guns. (Insert name Tier 3 Dessie here) Simply put, a destroyer capable of wielding a few medium sized cruiser guns.

Personally we could use more hulls in general for the destroyer class and they would be even more accesible than BC's are now. Thoughts?

As some one who actually read the CSM candidates notes prior to the CSM 6 election, I can categorically state, The current CSM members heavily promoted the idea of multi-shiptype fleets.

I am more worried about running into repeated large sub capital fleets that consists of Alpha Maels, Claymores, Tornadoes, Broadswords, Thrashers and Sabres than I am about anything else after the winter expansion.

For awhile (they might still) Agony PVP Uni had an all destroyer wolfpack class.... The videos up of those are fun to watch to say the least.

I think they required everybody in thrashers for the class though, and not any of the other Dessi's. Which of course is no surprise.... In any sense, fast lock arty thrashers in large numbers make for good videos. ;)

But like it has been said some of them need moar mid slots. It really shouldn't be a decision about wether to use an AB or some kind of point.

You know you could maybe work with others? Destroyers in gangs are going to be deadly especially if you an a dictor with the gang in low/null. Or get a interceptor to do the tackle for you and you just **** from range.

Not every ship type should be used solo. Some should more of a role in groups then solo pvp.

This is where I see destroyers shining.

My biggest problem with destroyers is the fact that they force an armor tank on you with the lack of mid's

Plenty of destroyers in the most recent Test Alliance Video. (And a video that I can't help but like for some insane reason) From the color's, they don't appear to be dictors.

Cruisers have been replaced by Shield Nano Canes for quite a while. It can not control Range against Frigates w/o a web.

It is to slow to kite Frigates, anything bigger will eat it with Drones. Even with the change it's Dmg will still be pitiful with one low slot, that or it's tank with no DCU.

Wanna fix destroyers give them another slot.

Cormorant = Low for Dmg
Coercer = Mid for Tackle
Thrasher = Low for Whatever
Catalyst = Mid for Web

That would fix most of there issues.

If past experience is anything to judge by, they will ***** and moan about it.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

While adding slots would be nice, it would make the new destroyers simply too OP, I think. Destroyers are cheap and inventive players will come up with good fits. It's the perfect ship for new players to get into pvp. Gather some friends, go to losec, lose the destroyers. Reship and come back again. Possibly bring a Griffin this time. What's not too like?
