If you are looking for somewhere you can sit and watch other people duel without anyone aggressing you, you're limiting your options. I would say go sit outside Jita 4-4, every time I am there it seems people are always shooting each other on the undock.

Now if you are looking to participate in some arranged duels, and unarranaged small-scale pvp (1v1, 2v2, 2v3, 1v2, etc.) low-sec is the place to go. Head to FW low-sec, or any active pirate hub (Amamake, Old Man Star, etc.). 99% of pirate corps will always honor 1v1's. Most decent FW corps will also honor duels. So yeah fit up a frig and take a trip to low sec.

Or wait 8 days 'till 1.1 hits - then you can glove-slap people any time, any place.

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Sometimes when I post, I look at my sig and wish that I'd follow my own god damned advice.

I would say best thing to do is join a 0.0 corp and fight with corpies. Deep null is the safest place to be and it's unlikely that your 1 vs 1 will get hot dropped.

This is so going to fail...

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

Do not go in E02-IK (in Great Wildlands) for these types of engagements. The people currently living in there dock-up at the 1st sign of danger.

I would lower your expectations from 99%.

In general, if they do not specifically say they honor 1v1's, don't expect them to do so. There are two types of pirate, one who is looking for gudfites, and one who is PvPing for profit. There is some overlap, but if profit is the goal (and it usually is) then anything goes.

Dueling is not possible in EVE.....

"Duel:
a prearranged combat between two persons, fought with deadly weapons according to an accepted code of procedure, especially to settle a private quarrel."

Since there are no accepted codes of procedure (other than who can bring the most boosters and logi), you can't possibly have a duel.

If you are expecting a fair fight in EVE....g/l. Lol

I'd head to Amamake and idle in a covops above top belt to get your viewing jollies. To participate, head to Amamake and ask for a limited brawl. I wasn't on vent and ended up crashing a prearranged 5v5 earlier this week and we paid the losers for their ships. (whoops)

The ability to request a private duel is coming in the next patch, in about a week.

If you wish to find an environment where 1v1 (or other size encounters) are common and honored join Red vs Blue (either side will do).

VFK is a well known dueling ground, travel out there then challenge people in local.

Take friend with you for when it becomes dishonorable so you may loot their carcasses.

Also advice from elite structure grind alliance in matters of pvp is pretty cool

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

Unpas, Urlen, Perimeter and surrounding systems is a fun suspect area at times, The main market hubs - Jita, Amarr.

I'm surprised at Elvis' response as 99% of pirate corps will not honor a 1v1 and you can't count on it - why should we? lol.. it's Eve. He's either lying, or extremely naive. fitting up a frig and heading to low sec will most likely get you killed.

isn't that what corps like eve university or rvb do?

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

A lot of PvP in Eve is about getting more stuff on the other guy, whether its with a blob or just better gear or better skills more stuff. You are either a fox or a hound and those roles switch on a dime.

If you want to fight find other characters about the same age as yours and fight them, just ask, don't try to jump anyone, Concord will get you in high and pirates will get you in low. Find someone like yourself who wants to fight then go out to a safe spot away from gates and stations so you don't target anyone accidentally or have another player step in when you pull flags.

Now each of you drop a can, just jettison any item, shift drag will split a pile. If you both drop cans and loot each others cans then I think you can attack each other without Concord interference. Read http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Crimewatch this.
Maybe do it in your rookie ships a couple of times to make sure that you understand the flags.

And it used to be the case that members of the same PC corp are always flagged against one another, so you dont have to go through the loot to get a flag thing if your in the same corp. Although make sure that no one has an ap to join another corp outstanding; I saw a guy in a corp sparing match loose a phantasm because his ap got accepted mid fight.

Oh and make sure your med clone is stationed nearby, sucks to get podded then wake up 20 jumps away from a rematch.
