So let's see - the caldari ship gets full bonuses to both weapons on a split weapons platform - totoally invalidating what CCP has always done in the past. And both the gallente and the caldari ships get role bonuses to Large Energy weapons?

No offense, but I think I'll wait until CCP publishes the official stats before I start celebrating/crying.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

large HYBRID weapons not energy

i suspect the capt reduction was supposed to say large hybrid weapons.


but then again this is not the OFFICIAL SPECS from ccp

Cap bonus needs to be -75%, not -50%, or it is effectively unbonused, not to mention completely cap-gimped compared to harbinger and prophecy (but who doesnt fit that one with projectiles instead).

Bad datamining or very sloppy dev work. Hate to think it is the latter.

ninjaedit: might even need to more than -75%, to accomodate tachyons.

Yep, just did the math. Slashing tachs by 75% would still be hungrier than (medium) heavy beams on a harbinger at BC V.
21.67/6 cap/s for heavy beam I
95/12.5s cap/s for Tach I
0.5*21.67/6 = 1.8
0.25*95/12.5 = 1.9.
Effective 5.5% more cap use at -75% bonus, per laser, compared to a harb/prophecy at BC V.

So, probably Gallente.

You balance ships, not bonuses. If the Caldari one is so fat,slow and hard to fit that it needs a fully-bonused dual weapon system, so be it. If Minmatar ships didn't have the built-in bonuses of speed, agility, small sigs, ease of fitting and bonuses to clearly the best weapon system, then you might have an argument for a comparable bonus.

I prefer to think of it as a smaller Typhoon that (hopefully) won't look like a fleshlight.
