Fellow Capsuleers,

It has come to my attention, through personal discourse and listening to the opinions of others that trolling in-game has become an epidemic. There are many tools at our disposal to deal with trolling on the forums, a crack team of highly trained individuals patrol the cybergateways of each subtopic. These brave and women mostly work from the shadows and are known universally as the ISD. In game however, there is no such protection, players of all origins are faced with dangerously high exposure to trolling.

As a suggestion I feel it would benefit the playerbase if each Solar System was assigned an ISD, where they could keep trolling to a minimum and reduce the danger of exposure to bystanders. Each ISD after being issued a system to report on would be given access to the logs of that system, and after thorough review could pass judgments on the content of the channel, this procedure would take only 15 to 20 minutes to review the past 24 hours of textual exchange.

In terms of enforcement, trolling should trigger a "suspect" flag on the player and turn their ship into a "beacon" where all other players would be able to "warp to zero" and defeat the trolling menace.

Second Hand Trolling has serious effects:

+ After a capsuleer has been exposed to trolling and is adequately jaded they may treat bystandards harshly as they've been "trolled".

+ Long-term exposure to trolling may cause a profound sense of disbelief in any topic being discussed as an example, nobody in the mission channel would accept that ancillary shield boosters had a 60 second reload time, they'd just been trolled too hard in the past.

+ Occasionally after being exposed to trolling certain individuals will begin trolling others, this is how the disease spreads.


So lets all do our part and report in-game trolls to the proper ISD authorities to provide a safer, cleaner, and more respectful New Eden.

CCP, we need a right click context option to "Report for Trolling"

No, you are thinking about leaping and frolicing. Big difference.

Its generally the people that get drawn in and argue back with Trolls, feeding them their precious tears, that keep the ball rolling. Just like bullies, it is the heated responce they are looking for, knowing that they have hit their mark and caused an emotional reaction. Learning to identify and ignore these trolls is the best option, as mostly they aren't even worthy of a responce. Though trolls are indeed an issue in EvE, and dare i say it, the entire internet, i very much doubt your suggested fixes would be implemented.

Would be far easier imo to start a list of known trolls. Named and shamed for being utterly useless and unworthy of note or responce. Though my guess would be that most don't have the balls to post with their main, and recycling alts is as easy as pie.

Plus it would be a pretty long list!
