I've just got info from Amazon.co.uk that Templar One will not ship until start of January next year. Why another delay?

From mail I've just got:

Quote:
Hello,

Unfortunately, the release date for the item(s) listed below was changed by the supplier, and we need to provide you with a new estimated delivery date based on the new release date:

Tony Gonzales "Eve: Templar One"
Estimated arrival date: January 31 2012 - February 08 2012

Big question is, why so many delays? CCP please give some info!

I can't wait for the book.

The Empyrean Age was amazing.

I've been getting the feeling that they've been delaying the book to let it coincide with DUST better.

It was first slated for release around September-October, wasn't it? I can understand that maybe it wasn't completely edited by then, so it might have been pushed a couple of months, but it's also worth noting that the first talks about DUST 514 "Private Trials" seemed to indicate a mid-to-late autumn release.

Then it sounded like "this winter" and before the end of the year, and Templar One was slated for November - which seemed to mesh well. (Also worth noting that CCP had at this time moved away from regular chronicles to focus on releasing fiction to support new expansions and fresh content)

Now CCP has actually started taking registrations for the DUST beta, and Templar One has a new release date. Coincidence? :tinfoil:

Actually, I don't think it's that far-fetched that they may start next week.

Also, have some sympathy for the poor sod that has to wait a few weeks for the book to travel from the UK to Australia after the release date. (I.e. me) Sad

Wow, and I thought choosing 'free delivery' and waiting 3 - 4 days was a hassle Shocked

The whole coinciding thing does make sense, the Dust beta possibly timed to start as we read about Mordu's private trials. Either way January couldn't come any sooner Cool

It's just a shame that the author Tony Gonzales was laid off when CCP cut back their staff. Cry

I have enjoyed both books to date, and eagerly await the new novel.

Tony Gonzales said on twitter that it was due for release on the 3rd of Jan. Unfortunately, according to Amazon.co.uk's customer service dept. that date only applies to the American release, and won't be released in the UK 'til the 26th... :(

Waterstones seem to have their pre-order option in the UK dated as 5th of Jan. which is strange if the above is true, but they haven't answered my email yet...

I tried going to Amazon.com to buy the Kindle version, but it won't let me... I am disappoint.

I was hoping this book would get me logging back into the game, instead of just training skills... :(

Got a paper copy from my local chain bookstore in the U.S. on Jan. 1st.

Thus far, it's the best book o fthe three, but only a few chapters in as yet.
