Or a laptop touchscreen interface? Touch select and gestures to control targeting, warping, info, panning, zooming, etc. Or is that just too LCARS. :-p

I like the whole idea of a kinect based interface for eve, simply because the thought of 200+ neckbeards flailing in front of their computers during a fleet fight makes me laugh.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Its possible to use a touch screen with eve now but a tablet is a long way off as the screen isnt big enough to use the ui very well.

I read an article a while back where a dev was talking about Eve on Tegra 3+ tablets. They were talking about a limited Eve client, though...you wouldn't have been able to undock.

It won't happen for a long time because the hardware isn't there. There's not a tablet on the market that could have rendered Asakai properly.

There is a remote access ability too. I was able to login to EVE (which was running on my PC at home) using my Samsung Galaxy smart phone.

But of course it's very choppy and is limited by your wifi bandwidth too. But it worked. I was able to interact with the market etc. I can't remember the software I used it was posted here on the forums though.

About 5 years ago I was using my iPhone to play eve. Could undock fly etc. I'm sure I can do the same with my iPad. I think I used iteleport/vnc. It's been a while.

Playing eve in a tablet/phone is nothing new

Well, personally I think it would suck to play it on a touchscreen. But that might be because I'm generally bad at this game.

Market trading on a tablet would be pretty much all you can get out of it. And it can be amazing, with the new API CCP is rolling out sometime soon, it can be even better. But no, don't expect to be flying spaceships on a tablet. Steve jobs once said " we use the most innovative control system there is, we all have 10 of them, our fingers" yea no he was wrong, the limitations of a touchscreen is too great to implement any complex system of any kind. Mouse and keyboard is the way to go, and will be untill somone finds a way to plug wires into our head, and controll it like that.

For Space Excel I can think of no worse interface than a touch screen. I hope this never happens unless they get the poor usability fixed in the current client.

Odyssey: Repacking in POS hangars for modules +1,  but please for other stuff too, especially containers. Make containers openable in POS hangars.

I am usually using remote access from my smartphone to play eve - easy way how to perform some relatively easy tasks - however, I dont think that it is usable for pvp or lvl 4+ missions for example :D

CCP Unifex mentions wanting to put PI and some other stuff on tablets, quite alot in the CSM minutes.

They're definitely looking at corp/alliance chat out-of-game, in browsers so PI out-of-game or on tablets can't be too far ahead of that.
