Regardless of our differences in playstyle, I'm sure there are many players like me. My career in EVE is brief, spanning less than a year, but I have taken an interest in the events of the sandbox and so am watching the developments of the push toward CSM8.

Briefly, I wanted to encourage other young players to do the same, if they are indeed invested in this grand experiment.

I am not exceedingly knowledgable about the game, and my personal interests are quite narrow. I spend most of the time I can devote to the game participating in wardecs against a variety of organizations. I was lucky enough to be picked up by a good corp early in my career, as even a month in I was already struggling to enjoy the game. Missions were excruciatingly dull, ninja looting had proven to be a cul-de-sac as my targets were wise to the technique, and there was no way I was going to mine for a living. Thanks to the corp leadership, I found a direction that made EVE fun and engaging. But I can't speak for their experience or anyone else's.

As the elections approach, things are heating up. Rivals declare their candidacy, endorsements are made. Many blogs are written in favor or against, and the arguments boil down to what the game should be going forward.

New players, first-time voters: if you have not already done so, I encourage you to read the entirety of the CSM7 Winter Summit minutes, even the parts that 'dont affect you'. They are substantial, but you will see how the CSM and CCP hash out ideas. It is highly informative, and to the point, you will see just how your fellow players represent their respective interests. Are your interests also represented?

Consider what drives you to keep logging in, what you enjoy, what frustrates you. Watch the forums, reddit, rand the many player-produced media out there. CCP has their plan, but the CSM can influence their thinking. Based on the minutes, I know who I'd vote for, but things are still taking shape. If you find that a candidate speaks for you, why not support them?

Or you could just log in and play the game, whatever it becomes.

All others, you may now commence shitting up the thread.

Hooray for multiple posts!

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Same here, only I was thinking of Xenuria.

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

^ Potty mouth! Shocked

Moral of the story, research every candidate and even talk to them.

Trolls are like stray cats. If you feed them they multiply. Please do not  feed the trolls.

I'm sure a narrow-minded, risk averse, holier than thou carebear such as yourself could do a much better job. You should put your money where your giant gaping mouth is and announce your candidacy.
