Planetology Question

Hey folks,

I was just wondering is it better to produce T1 products on multiple planets and have one planet produce T2 products? (I seem to have a problem with finding good spot to place extractors for good yields) I am kind of new at this and was wondering which method usually works best before I start to invest isk on five low sec planets I have in mind for PI.

And In case you're wondering the skills my alt I has are Lv. 4 Planetology, 4 Command Center Upgrades, 4 Interplanetary Consolidation, 3 Remote Sensing, and currently working to get level 3 Adv. Plaentology.

Thanks for any tips and info!

Personally, I find little use in extraction in hisec. There are two P1 materials that are barely acceptable for hisec extraction, as they have a decent abundance and decent market prices: noble gas -> oxygen, and aqueous liquids -> water. Ionic Solutions is by far the worst thing to extract in hisec.

Typically you want to do as much processing as possible on a planet, so that you can avoid import / export costs.

I was planning to do it in low sec in .2 systems.

If you are having a hard time finding stuff:

* You may be trying to extract a low-abundance material instead of the highest.

* You may not be adjusting the scan settings optimally. Note that you can move the low end and the high end.

* There may be a good number of PI setups already on the planet.

I don't see other PI setups on the planets but are we able to see other PI setups or are other people's setups invisible to me?

If it turns out that you are extracting in an optimum manner but still falling short then yes, you may need more initial extraction planets, especially if you want long program times.

Highsec is owned by players now. Systems 0.5-1.0 are New Order Territory. All miners and other residents of Highsec must obey The Code. Mining without a permit is dangerous and harmful to the EVE community. See www.MinerBumping.com

Sorry for another question but I was testing extractors and on one test I had about 4 extractors up was getting about 10k in T0 products. I thought that was a bit too much fo rmy current setup so I removed one of the extractors and the amount went up even higher, to 12k. I was confused by this so I removed another one and it dropped down to 8k. But I am still conused as to why It went from 10k with 4 extractors to over 12k with 3 extractors.

Those numbers (pre-installation) aren't completely accurate. The higher your planetology and advanced planetology skills are, the closer to accurate they are.

Normally sell P1 worth more than JUST manufacture and sell P2, P3 and P4.

Do the math before. I have characters that only P1 exploit and export the planet. Give one character puts it together, and produces what is giving more profit at the time.

Train Command Center to V so that you can have 6 planets, and do all P2 production on that 6th 'factory planet'. You can pull as much P1 as you could ever want, in excess even, especially in lower Low Sec.

This is way more optimal for production rather than being hindered by the CPU and Power requirements of Advanced Processors on those extraction planets.

Set the scan so the planet appears completely white. You may then need to right-click the planet to toggle show / hide other player's installations.

Never export raw Materials, the tax will cripple you. Always process them to P2 min.

See my spreadsheet below.

See my above post.

The increased amount of P2 created with a Factory Planet will defray that cost. And make a LOT more P2.

edit: Also, this guy wants to do it in Low Sec where it is easy to find 3% - 5% POCO's, which is nothing.
