Production Program

Hello fellow industrialists,

I've been thinking of creating a program to calculate the amount of ore needed to create ships. What I had in mind was something that asked what you wanted to create and how much you want to make. I know that the game already tells you the mineral requirements but I sometimes have trouble knowing how much ore I need. I'd like to know if anyone else would find this interesting or useful in any way.

Any constructive comments are welcome.

I'm trying to finish adding this feature to IPH. I'm about halfway done but have some RL stuff that's taking some time from me right now.

While some might say you should just buy minerals from the market, I know many out there that like to mine locally. In WH's and nullsec this could be useful for capital production if you have a mining op or something.

It'd be a nice feature and I'll implement it anyway :)

I have created a tool who does this, you could try it out and see if you like it before making your own.
What you do is go to the production sheet and select what you want to build, then you go to the Ore mining sheet and see how much of each ore you need to mine.

Try it out here

Want to know what is best to mine or build at which cost? then try out Dedaf's Industrial Tool http://dedafsindustrialtool.blogspot.dk/

Is exactly I try to figure out for a long time without results, so yes I'm very interested. All indy tools in EVE are centered around miners and how much isk they make every second, and that sucks big time! So I would appreciate any love toward those whom don't like to mine but rather manufacture and blow up ships.

I also tried to create a sheet but I failed miserably as I kinda suck in xls formulas and I found no logical formula that can split the required minerals to ore types depending on the region sec status where you place the buy orders just because it's a pretty big difference between null or hi sec when you need ore for a certain type of mineral.. lets say Isogen nor Nocxium.

Buying ore is better for booth sides, the miners don't need to waste time to skill up refining, grind standings nor haul, the manufacturer can get much better price buying the raw material than directly the minerals. But since I can't figure out how much and what type of ore I need to manufacture my stuff, I need to buy directly the minerals. Right now the ore is bought only by traders whom refine it and sell the minerals on the market... so I wanna cut them out from my business and waste my money directly in the miners wallet.

Couldn't you just do this in Excel yourself? It is just a matter of understanding your refining efficiency and putting in formulas to calculate how much of a given ore you need.

Start the day off slow and taper off from there.

If you're wanting to mine, refine and produce. You're a miner playing at being industrial.

Industrial not need to know the amount of ore. Because it only works with the refined material that your friend miner le sold.

Besides than the cheaper stuff does not come from ores. And yes reprocessing items.
