Sentry Drone Tanking

So I was wondering: now that alot of PVE targets will swap to drones, how might we use this to tank some damage for us?

Downsides is that it'd take up 5 of our active targets (i.e. if we lock up all 5 sentry drones) and 1-2 highslots for remote (shield??) reppers.

Thinking that this might be good for the rattlesnake with it's 2 utility highslots (though a DCA is good in at least one of these slots).

I guess I'm curious... do rats in missions reliably swap to drones, or is it too random to reduce tank by alot and try to use drones for the tanking?

Locking *all* the drones is probably overkill. Just watch the drone overview like a hawk and lock it if it starts taking damage. Those things take a bit of a beating.

But no, they don't reliably switch to targeting sentries. Still, if you're not using all your cap or drone range, I guess you might as well.
Not that I find it very likely that a Rattlesnake is going to have trouble tanking in most PVE scenarios...

I've been doing this in a domi.

The thing is it really sucks without a sensor booster, as the lock times on the drones are pretty long.

x1 RR does the trick.
