What is that, 6%?

no bubbles and doomsdays in low-sec. if this fight had happened in 0.0 the death toll would have been higher.

If PL lost a total of 1, maybe 2 supercaps, a few days to get back to full strength?
How many supercaps are in the pipeline right now in null sec?

And how many of the supers in the pipeline do not have a pilot already waiting for them? How many production lines are sitting idly just waiting for a customer?

(the answer is: none)

You are right that monetary loss is not such a massive issue but you miss that supercap production is a real bottleneck.

If you use the next titan that rolls off the production lines to reimburse one of the pilots who lost theirs today, then some other titan pilot will have to be pushed back one slot in the queue.

The end result is one less titan for the coalition unless they expand their production lines (and even if they did decide to do that the effect would only be visible 3 months down the road).

Now selling Titans and Super-carriers give me your deposit of 10 million isk to save your place!

Oh, Do go on... no seriously ive got nothing better to do then listen to all the petty arguments and feeble trolling attempts...

The sad thing is i'm not sure if i'm telling the truth.

Mabye capital ships should be more expensive, and have some type of upkeep.

Also, after the news of a the fight in Asakai, everyone moved there in no time. For exemple, if you are in the southeast null, you shouldn't be able to get into Asakai so fast.

Sad to say, since I was hoping for massive mayhem, but the fundamental flaws in the game mechanics/ capabilities of CCP's servers were exposed yet again.

I am not saying that given the amount of ships on the node that anything but a supercomputer capable of modeling weather or a nuclear explosion could have handled the load.

Far from it. I think CCP has done a great job designing software/ hardware to model the millions of calculations to simulate a battle between so many objects.

But look at the final tally.
According to goon's Pravda, between the 2 sides, 89 caps and 9 supercaps were destroyed. (those numbers will certainly added to, though I doubt by much)

In the overall context of the order of battle, whoop dee do.

Last I heard, 168 supercaps engaged, for who knows how many hours, and a total of 9 went down.

How many supercaps are in the pipeline right now in null sec?

Null sec wil try to spin this as creating content.
Guess what null sec. Some battles in high sec or wormholes are far more epic in percentage of total assets a corp/alliance commits than this tiff, requiring far more skill and guts than jumping into a system, and running Jita orders on an alt while sitting in a TiDi'ed system.

I watched the live feed provided by PL.
Sorry, nothing epic about that, just slow and boring.

Sure, a trillion ISK may have been destroyed.
And you guys replace that with a weekend of ratting and moon goo.

CCP, learn from this.
You want to make battles epic and memorable?
Make supercaps something impressive again.
If you won't nerf hull sec income, then increase the cost of supercaps 10 or 20 fold, so when one goes down it means something.
Also, start charging huge fees (in the form of isotope costs), based on mass, when cynoing into a system.
Make it hugely costly, even by blue null standards, to cyno in 100 supercaps.

Then suddenly, playing Supercap Blob Online becomes a thing of the past, and maybe you won't have quite so many pilots in a system killing the node.

That's the worst cognative dissonance I've seen in a while. On one hand you're talking about how null sec is so rich they'll be able to replace losses instantly and then in the other you're talking about how the solution is to increase costs.

I'm glad you're not actually responsible for making any decisions.

A whopping seven (7) S.Carriers and two (2) titans listed in related deaths .. big whoop. Now do that every day and you might just break even with the numbers being shat out of POS throughout NAP-land.

Came expecting to be disappointed and lo and behold .. !

PS: Do better, supers really have to die in droves for that kind of 'headline' to be warranted.

It's a cardboard box thank you very much!

Now take those staggering (*lol*) numbers and compare with 400+ Titans and 1600+ S.Carriers being birthed every year .. thread was misrepresented to an exceptional degree, death to all supers indeed.

PS: Vanilla caps are more numerous than bankers without morals, can be reliably killed by frigates up and can be built in NPC stations so who cares how many of those perish? Big smile

I was there for large part of that fight. Given what was on the field, it's pitiful how little died.

I don't know how they could have.

I went because I'd never seen a fight like that. It took me more than 30 minutes to make the final gate jump into system and when I finally got on grid, it was so obscenely slow that I could start locking something and then go clean the house for a bit while I waited. I was flying an interceptor and it took minutes to lock supers. How could that possibly be fun?

Went to battle report hoping to see 30 or 40 dead titans + supers on each side.

Left disappointed.

That's not a war.

That's just a bar fight on a Saturday night.

Glad I chose the wild monkey sex instead.

Titans in lowsec are total ****. They do less damage than a dread and cost 30 times as much.

Actually, goons are more the bullied that became the bullies. Like Anaking Skywalker. All those good intentions and yet... Coming to think of it, thats quite tragic, isn't it? Fun Fact: They are ALL still wearing horn-glasses and braces tho.
