Any plans to give missions an overhaul?

Just curious if there has been anything said or if a revamp to missions has been discussed?

I just feel like a many missions and complexes are a little stale, boring or could be made a little better.

maybe even distinct AI "personalities" for differant NPC factions?

If there is a thread to anything along these lines can you please direct me to it.

Just great. With the massive inflation in eve and them nerfing isk making, it's going to be that much harder to do anything but grind. Harder to replace lost ships in pvp. Harder to buy the cool ships that we want. Harder to buy the carrier that ccp is going to make it easier to get into. Looks like they are trying to "nudge" people into buying more plex.......hmmmmmm.

Can't make the isk.......just us RL money to convert into isk!

I hope they revamp them for the better. I have to fly ships no one else will fly in missions with test fits just to have fun with missions. I can only do AE, Blockade, etc so many times before Im sick of them.

I wish they were more randomized with spawns and spawn triggers. Im sure its just me that wants that though. Most people work the spawns to receive the least dps, and know exactly whats going to happen in every room because they have done them a thousand times. I think it would be cool to go into a mission not knowing whether i will receive full room aggro on warp in or have targets waiting 150km away. I just want some randomization to my missions.

But i mission for the fun of it, or the fun i can make out of it. I hate to grind them for the isk.

I can remember when a plex cost 300 mil, and no it wasn’t that long ago. The economy in EVE is a balance of what you can get and what it is worth. If everyone used PLEX to get ISK for their particular game play the ISK would soon run out. There really is not enough ISK in the game for everyone to get what they want with PLEX.

Consider if it is 50% harder to make the ISK then that ISK is worth 50% more, so objectively if the current trend continues then you can expect a plex to cost 250 mil conversely the items in the game will go down in price as well not because they are worth less but because the individual ISK is worth more. Currently inflation in EVE has made ISK virtually worthless, the fix for this is making less ISK available.

Still with me?

Ok so follow that train of thought through to the end, all ISK in the game is made in bounties and rewards, not a bit of it is printed by players, so the economy can only be fixed by making the ISK harder to get, and waiting for the current reserves to run out. Unfortunately this mean we will have to wait a few months for the effects to trickle down to everyone but the idea is sound and should make for a more reasonable expectation of value.

Things that keep me up at night;  Why do we use a voice communication device to send telegraphs? Moore's Law should state, Once you have paid off the last PC upgrade you will need another.

Get a clue. Do you know how much total isk in Eve sits in ppl's wallets? Do you realize how big of an isk faucet is insurance payout without any pve involved?Roll

You can remove rat bounty completely today, and nothing will change a month from now. What a mmo economy needs is lots of isk sinks.

Actually Indices are showing more ships destroyed, less ore mined, yet more mid size and small ships made, all of this points to a reduction of ISK wealth and an increase in asset wealth.

As far as the insurance goes it pays back a percentage and a pitiful one at that of the cost of the policy, as far as the uninsured ship ISK if you really think 40% of the cost of the ORE for a ship lost is a problem for the economy then I would suggest you go retake your macro/micro economics class.

hmmm... im kinda aware that it all boils down to plex's and the push to get more people into null....

but really should they me making life a misery for the high-sec player, im not sure if this is true?

I bounce around between null and high sec, like a lot of people, sometimes just need to get my mind off null every now and then.

making the mission's more enjoyable might bring some people back to the game or even get some new ones

this all seems speculation to me though... hope this gets some clarifcation from higher up.

The problem is that It adds ISK to the system, when a ship is blown up no isk is removed from the system, just minerals (the person you bought the ship off still has your ISK) . Insurance adds more isk to the system. Im not saying i think its the bigest isk faucet just that it should not be over looked or misunderstood

Null yes , plex not really. What people fail to see is that people only need a set amount of plex (other than a few char transfers ec), CCP is getting your money one way or another either someone else is buying your plex for you or you are paying a sub.

Peoples wallets might be big but if the supply of plex goes up the pricing will go down, as mentioned above its about total plex requirement, if there is way more plex on the market than people need to keep their chars running then the value of plex will decrease.


Back on topic, i would very much like a few more mission types or something other than so much of the same over and over again.

Yes on topic, I agree, with the work put inot making the AI 'better' I think some amount of effort could have been put into making some new missions. I even heard a interesting idea about a LVL 4.5 (if you will) with a mission similar to an exploration escalation starting in High and finalising in Low, requireing several sets of skills from Combat to hacking and even mining, truely a carebears forte.

love the escalation idea, would kinda help thinking there is a chance of a little something extra for the tedious mission grind!
