New rat AI makes my Pilgrim no good now ?

Just spent the last 30 days getting recon 5 for my Pilgrim only to have this happen. Evil

There is a possibility that OP is talking about uncloacking on ratter/plexer/whatever and grabbing full room aggro, not actually doing PvE with Pilgrim.

Future of T3 cruisers - multi-tool they aspired to be instead of sledgehammer they have become

He should indeed, because for PvE there is no single reason to have Recon V trained. The only PvE benfitting skill needed for Grim is the drone damage, whcih you have at lvl5 already.

To OP, I have not yet had the chance to try it, but I think a player called Zen Dad already posted some things about his solo-pilgrim experience being changed a whole bit since the new AI.

Also you said you trained Recon V in 30 days. Might have been better of checking earlier if that is all you use Grim/Curse for. As in, Retribution has been live including the new rat AI for more than 30 days.

pilgrim has bad bad dps when it comes to the amount of time needed to be trained for. As for pve only good was low sec exploration so far. With ai changes that also changes making it worse. I should wait for a rebalance. Until then when you hunt pve ships wait until 1 npc left at room and initiate the attack. You will be suprised how many times people wont pop that to trigger next spawn and take the chance to bail out .

Rebalanced to recons is what i am waiting . Curse is still all right but pilgrim aint. They need to add either dps or make it tankier

should have trained for sansha beast lord flying, they have good dps and superb tracking disruptions xD

And then remove cloak, thus making it balanced. Oh wait, you didn't really want balance.

What makes you think you're entitled to free rat dps? Why don't CCP just give you free kms?Roll

You seem to be missing the point, the pilgrims anemic dps along with it's anemic tank and the fact that it's short ranged meant you needed rat dps, and the last thing you needed was rat dps on you.

So what your trying to tell me is the covert version, of a ewar ship isn't good in an out and out gun fight as a combat oriented version? Shocked

Well that is just crazy. They should do everything the combat versions do AND have a covert ops cloak. Only then would they be balanced with each other!

Difficult, yes. Pilgrim is one of the spaceships that just seemed to be made for this kind of activity.

Know the sites, know when to attack. No more 'decloak, point, laugh' i guess.

That beside - yes the new rat AI does make some types of gameplay harder.
