phones? Mine are getting kind of old and not sounding too great.

Edit: Please, serious post only.

Title edited. I get the intention of having a funny title, but it was inappropriate. -- ISD LackOfFaith

I can just take the things off if I need to pee. I was actually looking for something studio quality with an off switch for the mic at a reasonable price.

Edit: I just read the earlier link and I see it does have a mic mute button but the 7.1 makes no sense. 7.1 means there is literately 7 speakers and 1 subwoofer. There are only 2 speakers with headphones.

You need an off switch for yourself.

In case of feed back or there are other people in the room talking to me and I don't want the mic to pick them up. Too lazy to alt tab and click mute on the screen.

Edit: Newegg doesn't really have anything that is actually studio quality.

I found these but they are not the quality I am looking for.

I am using steelseries 4H, but it is fragile so i don't take it often, actually i don't feel I have them on all time, and sometimes forget to get them off, it's miracle the wire is still intact. Sound quality is good for games. :P

i use these.

my mic is a separate entity. i listen to a ton of music both at the computer and away from it. so it makes sense for me to have separate equipment.

let the headphone people make the headphones, and the microphone people make the microphones

for headphones I use: sony mdr V6. they're studio monitors, better than -anything- you can find that has a mic attached (corsair, razr, blah gaming headsets) people who "know" use sony mdr-v6. Howard Stern, for example. I like them so much, I bought two (after my first mdr-v6 of 10 years broke). if you want more bass, mdr-v600's have bigger drivers and more bass.

for a mic I use: samson G-Trak popular, solid studio mic and it's excellent for teamspeak.

mdr-v6 mdr-v6 mdr-v6 mdr-v6 mdr-v6 mdr-v6 mdr-v6 mdr-v6

those HMD-280's? vs mdr-V6:

HMD-280
max input power .5W
frequency response: 8 Hz - 25000 Hz
impedence: 64 ohm

mdr-V6
max input power 1W ( ! )
frequency response: 5 Hz - 30000 Hz ( ! )
impedence: 63 ohm ( ! )

I tried to find bose numbers for that qc15, but... good luck. (they're going to suck)

Those are good and what I use
bit hot for my ears, though that is a personal thing more.
putting them behind the ears fixes that
the more advanced ones are excellent, but you pay for it.
Worth it if you have the cash

also: i have my mdr-v6's running through an amp, because the mdr-v6's are underpowered with stock computer audio outlets. (a sound card with an amp will solve the power issue, but I don't have room after my video cards. I chose the battery powered amp so I can take it with me/use with my phone or ipad)

boostaroo

mdr-v6's for $70-ish USD, boostaroo amp for $25-ish USD... no one comes close to the sound quality for less than 3x, 4x the price. at least

//hah bet i can guess what your original title was

I haven´t read a single post reply and skipping to the only headphones you will ever need to buy

SENNHEISER

Anything else, like Skullcandy or the infamous Beats are just ... teen headphones, MACs for the ears so to speak. Symbols.

If you want to truly listen to music use Sennheiser , not even BOSE ones are as good.

Unless you want to go into Professional stuff like Fostex, Audeze or Grado, Sennheiser are the best below 300$
