scan probe question regarding warping ships

Greetings,
when scanning using combat scanner probes, are some of the returns, ships in warp?

case example:
I scan system wide which gives me approx locations of a number of ships, are all of these ships at a specific location, or are some of them flying between locations and the scanner happened to snag them during the snapshot of the system the scanner returned?

it's a snapshot at the time probes completed the scan.

that's what I was afraid of. It makes catching targets just that little bit harder, with what is essentially noise in my scan.
