gila and lvl 5 missions

is it possible to do lvl 5 missions with a gila? i saw a fit for an ishtar but i dont have the isk right now for one but with the resist bonus and drone damage bonus the gila should be good right?

I'm not sure. Despite the resist bonus, I think that the Ishtar's natural T2 resist bonus is still stronger when it comes to resists (specifically against Kin/Therm damage). If it is doable, you'll probably have to drop a lot of ISK on DED modules to boost the defense enough to work right.

I'm pretty sure the Ishtar would be the cheaper ship to use, the hull price isn't that much more and it has crazy resists for certain damage types (which is presumably the damage you'd be fighting against with it).

Dps output of a heavily tanked Gila (or Ishtar for that matter) is underwhelming due to needing so many slots to make that tank happen, especially for lvl 5s. So even if you would have the tank and you would be neut immune your dps would be entirely crap, resulting in it just not being worth it. The extra time you need because of a lack of dps, the added danger of being in low sec and flying a faction fetish fit cruiser means you're just much better off sticking to lvl 4s in that case.

A Rattler makes more sense due to having the slotting to have both tank as damage mods and it gets some help from its missiles but still; an expensive ship in a dangerous situation is generally not worth it.

It's too easy, too fast and too tempting to scan down a big fat Rattler. One of the reasons ppl used Ishtar, aside from kinetic resists and cheap price, is because it's smaller.

In any case, given the dirt low LP price plus the new and improved drone AI, lvl5s just aren't worth the hassle for most people.
