The website is an open forum so anything can be initially posted. The problem you are referring too has been struck down hard for a while now, or so I've heard. In the 1.5 years I've been on the site I've never happened across such content, but I've never looked for it either.

Lots of people,

Massively, IGN, Eurogamer, RockPaperShotgun, the BBC.

Just google Eve online news and you get a lot of non-eve sites talking about it in various guises.

Yes I frequent Reddit too but it's not the be all and end all or the center of the internet, no matter how much some claim it is.


You can add the NYTimes as well. That's how I heard about EVE.

No, just another thing killing it. I don't WANT you redditors in my game. You join EVE, join Dreddit, get told how to make enough ISK to afford PLEX each month and become yet another non-content-creating, useless parasite in EVE that drives up PLEX prices and nothing more.

I spent far to much time there, too (simply love karmawhoring) but this place also tends to annoy me.
Reddit is a more adult, better structured and mostly SFW version of 4chan in my opinion.
Yet those guys constantly keep claiming original 4chan memes for themselves and, yeah, brag about how reddit invented it etc.
Careful, Reddit, this is the path to the dark side, the path that 9gag took long ago....

I agree, I came to Reddit because it's a known community to EVE players, but I use it mostly for others subjects than EVE.

Short answer: Nope

Eve is heavily advertised. Sure, theres a bit of discussion on reddit, but when I browse online, I see Eve adverts everywhere. Admittedly, part of this is browse my browsing history is tracked, but I still see them on youtube, google searches, and even other game pages. When I go to my local movie theatres, which afaik, aren't tracking my browsing history, I see multiple eve adverts. (Dunbar theatre, cinemark tinseltown, vancouver canada)

Eve's saving graces are being a good game, with a loyal fanbase, and good advertising.

EVE is it's own saving grace. I've lost count of how many different MMOs I've tried, gotten bored with, and subsequently discarded since I first tried EVE. Yet, here I am, back in EVE, going strong, and looking forward to what the future has to bring.
