Hi there,

People talking about not ratting in one system are correct, you need to kill 1 high bounty per system and then move on. Your sec status gain is worked out as the highest single bounty ship killed in each system per 15 minutes. So you will want to move from system to system until you get your bounty payments flash in your wallet and then you can go back around the systems you have already done.

I used a PvP fit gank Talos. High DPS, MWD, web, disruptor and tracking enhancers with buffer shield tank. You kill the rats before they do any significant damage anyway and your safe to travel that way if you know your way around hostile space in a capable small gang/solo PvP ship.

I once got a -6.5 sec status back to -1 in two days. Getting your very low status back up reasonably high is the quick bit. It's getting it above -2 that takes the time (because sec status is raised or lowered by %, and therefore lower positive or negative values change the slowest).

Using a cloaky, nullified T3 is almost definately the safest, but it wont be as quick. Its up to personal choice really.

Also, people are right. Its quickest doing this in sov space where the bounties are highest on belt rats.

Hope that helps.

some good advice in this thread. if you do the SB belt ratting thing, pick belts that dont have frigs. this will save you some time and headaches.

My answer: Can you fly a bomber? Go to Syndicate.. Run around the region killing battleships in each system for 3 days. -10 to -1.9 in a couple of days. Dont have time to just grind it out? Log on and off in syndcate and spend your playtime doing this. You will also make a fair amount of isk off possible faction spawns!

^^That.^^

Your Manticore will especially like eating Serpentis (Syndicate/Outer Ring NPC space).

Guristas, I don't know about --they're weakest to Kinetics, but that ECM can make things painful, plus I don't know if you can get to their space without having to deal with sov-carebear bloc space anymore (Although I seem to recall SoCT space has Gurista rats?).

I got my "co-main's" sec up from -8.2 to -1.6 in a few weeks of fairly causal ratting and very cautious piloting-- IE, warp to safe and cloak as soon as someone entered local-- and made some nice bank off faction-spawn drops (Shadow Serp web and Sensor Booster in one session, f yeah!).

I actually spent as much, or maybe even more time making the usual de rigeur nullsec bookmarks in the constellation we'd (my co-main's old corp. and I) found than actually out pewing those red crosses.

Star Wars: the Old Republic may not be EVE. But I'll take the sound of dual blaster-pistols over "NURVV CLAOKING NAOW!!!11oneone!!" any day of the week.

I was in the same spot as you once, resubbed in some random 0.0 system, being held by angry Russians (I think they were angry) with all my assets there and a very negative security status.

Best thing I could do was find a 0.0 corp where I could rat in relative peace.

Sec counter is 15mins per system if i rember right been a long time

cloaky interdiction nullyfier t3

I'm just learning some lingo here.

cloaky = cloaking device.
interdiction = interdictor?? one of the destroyer variant ships?
nullyfier = I'm not sure what this is
t3 = tier 3 ship

Could you give me a specific ship name so I can see if I have the required skills? Or at least I could dock train towards it if I don't. Thanks :)

They are talking about T3 cruisers like Tengu or Loki with covops and nullifier subsystems.

Unless the ISD dude happens to know of some stealth change to the game (please do share if so). But unless changed if going for pure sec status fixing you will run what is called by a some a loop (call it whatever you want if not these people).

Note: this is for pure sec status fixing...not making good isk/hour.

Line up several systems...ideally in a circle of some kind to come back the 1st system real easy (hence the loop).

I will say 10 systems for this example.

System 1. Kill 1 and only 1 bs rat, fly to next system
System 2. Kill 1 and only 1 bs rat, fly to next system
System 3: Kill 1 and only 1 bs rat, fly to next system
System 4-10 : take a wild guess as to what I would write here

go back to system 1 AFTER 15 minutes. repeat process.

The reason: Unless changed and ISD can clarify if so, you only get 1 sec status fix per 15 minute cycle per system. If you mow down 40 rats in that 15 minutes in the same system, the game will only count the sec status fix of the first 1. If you kill 1 rat per system and move on you get the sec status updates much faster.

Again...this is not isk per hour friendly. Want that isk too, well then your sec status repair is gonna be a bit longer.

Since its only 1 rat this works well for stealth bombers. You should be able to pick off 1 bs and gtfo okay. Obviously avoid spawns with scram frigs, it will make your life not so fun.

I just resubbed to the game. I left previously when I discovered I wanted a change from life as a low-sec pirate. Unfortunately the security rating blocked off parts of the game I wished to explore.

I'm going to try very casually for a month to repair this security rating. I hope I can do it as I want to play this game if possible. Is ratting in null sec still the best way to regain security rating?

I guess I have a manticore at the moment. I must've been trying stealth bombing rats when I left last time.

just destroy a few more pods in low-sec and your sec will return to -10 where it should be ;)

I can fly a Loki and Legion already. I'm 23 days away from being able to play a Tengu.
My brief search says that Loki is better for PvP while Tengu is better for PvE.

I'd assume this means Tengu is better for ratting but I think I'll give the Loki a go simply because I can start ratting now.

Wish me luck :)

Thanks for all the advice.
