Hybrid or Projectile?

So, I just got a good deal on a Megathron Navy Issue, and I'm looking to fit it for missions. I've read on some other threads that I gallente weapons in general suck, and that it would be better to train projectiles instead... problem is that I have large hybrid turret 5 already, and was about to spend my unspent skillpoints on specialization for either railguns or blasters. I have enough to get one of them trained to max instantly... or alternatively, I could train minmatar weapons up to whatever their battleship equivalent is, but not be able to use T2. So, I'm wondering... T2 Blasters, T2 Railguns, or T1 Projectiles?

Dude the Navy Mega puts out mad Deeps, and everyone knows that projectiles are overpowered. Combining the two would be like forming Voltron or something. If you do that, make sure you let me know how it works!

Is it actually worth giving up the Racial bonuses though? As well as having to wait like another month before I can use T2, plus having all of the hybrid training I've done go to waste?

Liang is being sarcastic. Also one like for Voltron reference.

I would try rails, sniper fit, fit large micro jump drive, jump to 100km and let the rats chase you. 3 minutes later you can make another 100km jump if you need it.

Rails suck. But don't listen to me I'm new. They have poor tracking and even worse damage. Blasters have great damage but you spend so much time getting in range I wish I had trained capless guns, but then again who needs guns when you have drones?

Try large micro jump drive with your rails.

yes. but also consider training minmatar bs and getting a vindi and then training large projectiles and getting a machariel. when you fly machariel you win at internet spaceships.

I should buy an Ishtar.

Have a look at this, you don't need the MJD silliness. Sure it can help in very very VERY specific missions but generally clowning around trying to stay at long range is a hilarious waste of time. The whole row of bling lows is a result of the ship's massive cpu issues and can't really be avoided other than using named turrets. Note that some missions are medium to long range (where this works fine) and some are short to medium range (where you'd want a blaster fit).

Also, cap booster fits take some time to get used to but because you can fully focus slots and rigs to applied dps and tank they're much more focussed.

Fixed that for you.

Also, medium rails suck. Small and large are pretty good at what they do.

Not only that but the Mach (and Angel ships in general) will be on the chopping block once Fozzie gets to balance the faction ships.

Vindi on one account, NM on the other. If anything enters the 100km radius, it melts :)

I hear this a lot but honestly, I don't see it.

I run quite a lot of missions. I use t2 railguns on a Kronos. I have 11.7 mil SP in gunnery, so basically I am shooting for max damage with my railguns.

Bad tracking? Please, I can easily shoot BS's at 5km, with a single tracking computer. Oh yeah, I can easily kill cruisers at this range too. You just need to fly your ship in the same direction as the rat and they pop easily.
Bad damage? 2-4000 a volley seems alright to me. And that is just with t1 antimatter. I don't even bother with t2 ammo or faction because it's fast enough for me already.

Plus I can shoot out to 165km with Spike.

Granted, I haven't used other weapon systems as a comparison but they don't seem to be as bad as people make out.

Just what Liang said - Projectiles are overpowered. The best weapon system atm.
Not only projectiles (ACs) don't use cap when shooting, have superior tracking and range, but also projectiles allow you to change damage type, which is critical for missions.

Whatever.

Sounds familiar, didn't they say they were gonna do that 2 years ago?

I guess you missed whole rebalancing thingy going on since Crucible. Stop blaming ships for your failures.
