Character Customization neglect

So, remember those awesome sleeve tattoos? Those other incredible outfits? All those finished items that already exist in game that were supposedly going to be released to us like they did with FW uniforms?

This is work that's already been done and I was thrilled to see many of the items made available. The meshes, the textures, the market entries... all that's left is to populate the items.

Come on. Please. It's like spending hours cooking dinner for a hungry family and then just putting it straight in the Tupperware and locking it in a deep freezer before shrugging at them while you walk by to go to bed and they all just sit confused wondering what the hell the point was.

If CCP doesn't want to do it, there's dozens of people who would jump on the chance to do it themselves just for the good of the community. This is literally something that could be done by downtime tomorrow if some dev's just looking for something to do.

+1, I have, in the past, brought up this very same idea. I mean, everything is there, it's just latent code at the moment. As everything is there, why not implement it?

I mean, sure, it's aesthetics, but it's still important to the community as a whole. Need I remind the community of the Jita Riot? The community was outraged by the simple fact that CCP had promised thousands of stations for us to walk around in and all they delivered was a single room.

But it's not just clothes that the Carbon system forgot, oh no. Things like height were overlooked as well. Sure, the Carbon Character Creator is an incredibly well put together piece of software. But things like jewelry, belts, weapons, sleeve tattoos and a lot of other things were left out when they were promised to us.

That said, I'm not saying we head down to Amarr and shoot their monument to get a response from CCP. But if they were actually looking at these forum posts and taking them into consideration, you'd think that a lot more of the Character Creator and WiS would be finished.

I don't know, maybe some drastic measures do need to be taken. I mean, if they're not going to listen, then we need to make them listen.

CCP isn't done with WiS, nor do I think they should be. I believe a lot of the playerbase is looking for it. However, I believe they are going to release a ton of it when they have actual meaningful content, rather than in spurts here or there, so they can say "Here is all this awesome stuff. Here is the expansion you wanted."

Keep in mind, Dust uses the same engine, so they can have both teams working on it (since it really is one universe).

That's a good point, Kitt. I probably should have considered that before I went on my rant. It would, however, be nice to have an estimated date that we can look forward to. Personally I'd like a full black Trench Coat and a scrambler pistol strapped to my hip. It might be purely for aesthetics for now, but it still looks cool.
