Used Car Salesmen

Hi

I'm not sure I'm really entitled to post on the Eve forums anymore, seeing as I haven't really played for three or so months, but here goes anyway:

I suggest that all - Or most - Stations have what equal a used car salesman. Basically, ships which are already fitted and loaded with some sort of ammo.

The reason is, that I got tired of having to put things together, run back and forth through the galaxy to get new stuff when the old was blown up (or just live near Jita or Dodi), and I can't imagine that I'm alone in finding this a little tiresome.

The types of ship, the fits/meta level, even damage could vary from system to system, based on the security level, "geographical" placement and so on.
Prices could be determined by the market value of the modules - With a little markup, of course, since the salesman has a family to feed as well (although NPC, I imagine even pixels need some sort of food every now and then).

This would mean that more action oriented people could spend more time fighting and less time fiddling with boring logistics. Also, I imagine it would make people just a little less risk averse.

Whaddya think?

If Incarna Establishments rolls out this coudl work great. You browse through and kick the "tires" and view the ship fittings as you walk through the hanger.

Sounds fun to me!

If what you are discussing is ships previously owned by other players, this feature is already available - it's called contracts. The fact that there is apparently nothing for sale in the area where you are means there isn't enough of a market to attract sellers.

If, on the other hand, you mean that some NPC game mechanic will magically spawn prefit ships that players can buy, then no.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

Magically spawned prefit ships or magically spawned hulls and modules. It's hard to tell the difference the way I see it.
Only difference is that lazy people like me will provide more targets for the eve-rainmen out there.

And yes, I meant NPC.

EDIT: Although if anybody cared to prefit and sell all types of ships/meta levels and make a serious business out of it the way Red Frog did for transportation, I'd be just as happy.

The problem with having NPCs create them is that it sets a maximum ceiling on what players can charge for those items, limiting the role of the free market in the Eve economy, which is a bad thing.

Having NPCs spawn items doesn't work well with the Eve economy, except in certain cases (skill books for example).

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

Good argument.
In the end, if it was ever up for debate, one would have to weigh the pros and cons overall.
I convinced the less time spent in the hangar would boost overall combat action in Eve.

Gosh, I turn my back on this game for just a moment, and next thing I know, Jersey Shore moved in with shades and bleached hair P
