evaluating enemy capabilities

im new to eve online and was wondering if there was a way to evaluate an enemies combat capabilities before getting destroyed by them. im asking because iv had several situations where i get into a fight with an NPC and get 1-shotted by a rocket from 15 km away.

NPC Damage and Defensive capabilities

this maybe helpful for you, u can type in what npc you are fighting against and it will give u the offensive and defensive capabilities. It may be out of date though. i used to use it a few years ago when i was a newbie aswell, it did serve me quite well by knowing that i had to tank for etc.

the other question is what are you flying and are u tanking it?
