IGS has way too many dark and angst ridden posts for its own good. Therefore, I decided to start a new topic about something we all know and love, despite differences in beliefs, races, or weapons of choice;

FOOD!

Immortal or not, I love food, all kinds of food from all over the cluster! From the finest bistro's on the Crystal Boulevards, to the efficiently and deliciously prepared BBQ restaurants in Jita 4-4! From the most elegantly prepared dishes of old in the in capital of Amarr, to the most exotic and local dishes of the Minmatar Border Worlds!

So, what foods do you guys like? Any specific dishes? Recipes? Near death experiences eating still moving spikey "delicacies?"

Serious answer? I actually don't have a favorite dish. Something new that I have not tried before is the closest I could come to a 'favorite'.

I've been trying to find somewhere that makes a decent plate of fried locust in sweet habanero sauce and vegetables on shredded cabbage. The locusts are easy enough to get, God knows they're easy to raise, but there is an annoyingly wide range of flavor on the hot peppers. I've heard it suggested that I use chicken instead, but there's only so many odd foreign foods you can stand without getting homesick.

There are over seven and a half thousand star systems in New Eden, Anslo. That's a lot of variety in food. While you won't find me eating raw Fedo scent glands anytime soon, I'm sure someone around this cluster serves that in a restaurant. I like trying new things, and there's plenty of new foods to try at any given place.

Though if you had to insist that I pick something I've already eaten, I'll take a cup of Matigu Green tea along with some soda crackers. That's a safe bet.

Have you flown around? Border worlds tend to do those more specialized dish. Find out where the pepper originated from and check that planet maybe?

I know where to get it, I get it from my hometown on Mishi, it's just that it can be a pain trying to sneak past gate camps all the way into Aridia just to get decent home cooking.

Ooooh I see what you're saying. Well, some dishes are worth the opportunity cost? There was this one dish from the State that used a really rare whiskey sort of alcohol in the recipe. Only problem was the system was smack dab in the middle of a corridor used by the Caldari/Gallente Militias.

I got out alive. Totally worth that stew, holy crap.

Hamburgers. Actually, any sort of meat that can be placed between bread bums. Certainly may not be sophisticated, but it certainly gets me going.

I have to say, I have always been partial to a big, juicy steak, done medium rare, with a side of spinach, and mashed potatoes, served with a good red wine or a sweet black tea.

I always used to get concerned about what to do about all the excess calories, mind.

Edit: Gallentean brains are a rare delicacy. Ho ho ho.
