Cloaked Tengu for solo WH PvP

Greetings. I was wondering if anyone have any suggested fits for hunting people in WH's with a Tengu. I know its not optimal but I would really like it to have a cloak fitted, so that I can have the relative safety of stealth and to be able to easier pick my targets.

I have an alt for scanning, but he cant do much more than that, so I will essentially be operating as one ship while PvPing.

Yes, I know a Proteus would be a better ship for the job, but thats not an option for me.

Thanks.

Cloaky tengu didn't have enough dps before the missile nerf, it has even less now.

Get a Proteus. You'll have no range. Can't have everything. Something gets sacrificed for cloaky, so if you want to uncloak on top of someone, it might as well be range instead of dps.P

Get rid of the Tengu, get a Proteus. And yes, it *IS* an option. Buy skillbooks, remap for Per/Willpower, profit.

HAM Tengu does more damage now after the missile "nerf". You don't really compare long range missiles (HMs) to blasters (a short range turret), right?

If you consider 250 dps out of 4 hams a lot, sure.Roll

Covert HAM Tengu: 316 DPS @20km
Covert Neutron Proteus: 525 DPS @2.3+6.3km OR 419 DPS @6.3+8.8km

Sure, blaster DPS seem better on paper. But missiles have advantages apart from raw DPS numbers (fully selectable damage type, neut-proof, ewar-proof). Ofc missiles have disadvantages as well.

Ive had some great fights in this ship. ( This particular fight, I was sensor damped the WHOLE fight. Never got 1 shot off Sad )

I have decent experience with Tengu combat, and this was cost effective and let my pick my fights in most cases. In bigger fights I was ALWAYS primaried, so that added to the fun, (if I lived)
Still hurt to lose it...
Be careful

Exactly what i was looking for, thank you very much. Think I'll fit it with HAM's instead of HML's.

Just a reminder, tank for c1 = 200 dps, c2 = 400, c3 = 550, all omni, all sustained. There's also the issue of popping it fast enough, before his friends arrive.

Ppl didn't suffer void range just to get the 600 dps out of a cloaky proteus to boast about it, they did it because it's necessary.

No one can tell you what to fly, but it's less costly to learn from other people's mistakes than your own.

Why don't you use the Ejecterbay OFfensive subsystem, with a regulair cloak?

^this.

I roam alone sometimes, which means jumping through gates blindly. I need to be able to warp off if there is a camp there, or basicly if any condition does not feel right. If local is full but the gate is clear, I may want to warp in at 50 from the other gates and look without being seen.

If you want enough damage to hunt, I'd take a Offencive ejection bay, T2/faction cloak, and a Propulsion nullifier, gets you past most gate's, and gives you a change to ight back.

If you use a Covert -ops setting you risk being lol-ed at when hunting solo,(Covert-op cloak + Probe, leaves 4 launchers without the ejectorbay bonus) in a group it could work, but a SB does more damage or a fraction of the price.

WH + Gates - does not compute...
