By trade an auto electrician, used to do a lot of work on stupidly expensive cars, retrofit multimedia, vehicle trackers and the like. Now it's all done at the factory so I turn my hands to whatever comes along and pays the bills.

Did you just do installations? Or diagnostics and repair? A lot of garages are hopeless at electrical diagnostics, and just start replacing random parts if they're not sure, and give up after you've blown a load of money. With a lot of complex cars approaching and passing their 10th birthday you could keep yourself busy for a long time.

Heh, no kidding. My previous car died two days after I bought it, turns out the electrical system was a complete mess with re-soldered and crossed wires everywhere (shouldn't have worked when I bought it). After a good while the guys at the garage gave up and said "look, we got it to run now, but we have no idea if we actually fixed it. It worked when it couldn't have, didn't work when it should have, and now we don't know what state it's in. Are you sure it's a good idea to keep this car?"

Made me laugh, right until they told me they'd still have to charge full price for the diagnostics and repairs. (to their credit, it never acted up like that again)

Truly, you have a dizzying intellect.

Mainly installation work, but quite capable of diagnostics work, 10 year old cars are still relatively simple compared to the modern stuff, thanks for the idea, I'll look into it.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Auditor for Intercontinental Hotels Group, Holiday Inn Schenectady. I'm a number cruncher. Currently looking to supplant my woefully inadequate boss (seriously, when she brings a thousand-dollar lawsuit to the hotel because she can't change one number on a man's tax form despite being told six times, thereby forcing him to pay the Federal government the equivalent of two months pay, she needs to go)

More accuratlely, the housekeeping department. She was a housekeeper for 10 years, when someone had the stroke of brilliance to make her the Financial Manager... with no experience, no education, and a bare-bones grasp of English.

No surprise there.

I almost went the opposite route, but the Recruiter was persistent, and the Sherriff's office was slow on the uptake. Count that one as a near-miss.

I applied to join the Navy when i was 16, and then decided not to finalise it.
Then the Falklands happened a year later, and i was kinda relieved.

It's taken most of my extremely varied working life to discover a vocation i both enjoy and am good at, so I'm currently retraining & atending part-time college to become a Basic Skills tutor (Thats Numeracy, Literacy & basic ITC skills Smile).

Although I did 3 years support work with a charity for adults with learning disabilities, all the paid jobs involve care work & i aint wiping bums for a living.

I'm a Subcontractor for Mediacom. I also work for a company that prewires new homes, does wall mounts for TV's, installs home theater systems, Directv, Dish Network, and Brinks. Basically, if you watch it, listen to it, or it protects the things you watch and listen to, I install it. Lol

Currently working on my Masters in Criminal Justice.. I'd like to work in Juvenile Probation. Straight
