Resetting SP

I was recently thinking about all the ways CCP wants us to spend more money with them, while giving us new "THINGS" to enjoy.
most of the Things are pointless tbh. So i was thinking about a way to allow players the chance to reset the sp they have put into the game. My thought on this was, lets say if you want to reset your engineering skills- all of them as i think it should be the whole skill set, it would cost (for example) 100 dollars or the equivilent wherever you live. Ofcourse you would still have to follow the pre-req as normal. But it would allow you the change the mistakes you might have made. or allow you to follow the path you are currently following. Restrictions could be placed on it like only 2-3 skill sets a year. this could be payed with cash or plex... not sure about plex though. but either way it wouldnt give any unfair advantage, anyways this is just kind of a thought i had and wanted to see what the rest of you all think about this. please feel free to add ideas comments trolls whatever. ive been in eve long enough to know what to expect here.

Then you should already know how horrible an idea this is. Also the fact that its not a new idea and has been brought up way more times then I wish to count.

With this what would be the point of crafting your beautiful individual snowflake in this universe if you could just throw cash at it and reset your SP

It would completely destroy the Character Bazaar which some of us as our form of income. Taking badly skilled pilots and making them actually worth something

thats also a very good way to make income. buy badly skilled chars and repurpose them.

You should be shot then thrown down a hole for just thinking about this.

however it be kind of nice if the skills you dont use as often you could use towards sp you use often kinda like what they did with learning skills.

Trouble is you move the game away from a character building game towards more of an instant pewpew (hate that term) game.

well its like this a char might have started the game as say a builder or miner. he doesnt want to follow that path anymore, so he pays to reset that skill set and can only use those skill points in that set. so it isnt giving any unfair advantage because all those points stay in the same set its not like the one guy posted going from a hulk to carrier with one transaction. because frankly their is more then one set of skills needed to go to carrier or what ever. either way it would clean up some badly skilled chars, and as far as the bazzarr is concerned it would help there too. people could buy a char they want bad skilled or not and customize it to fit what THEY want it to do.

i mean yes and no its not really a quick fix for anything it just gives people the chance to fix what they broke... for a lack of better words

When "long enough in eve", you should know what the community was and (obviously) is thinking about "remapping for plex", so please do us a favor and stop thinking (at least about this).

You don't have an unfair advantage, they were your choices to mine in the first place, nobody made you do it. When your character was created it was equal to every other character on creation. If you feel you have a disadvantage now it's of your own making.

Cannot support this idea as it would indeed be gamebreaking by destroying immersion. Consider this: Don't eat a big bowl of stupid before you train skills, and take accountability for your actions. No instant gratification for **** ups. GTFO.

It removes the point of having skills to begin with.
It removes the point of having attributes.
It removes attribute implants from the game.
It removes variety and instead encourages FOTM and cookie-cutter setups.
It removes the uniqueness, history and "character" of your character.
It removes planning and choice and consequences.
It removes goal-setting, progression and any achievement in those areas.
It kills character trading.
It massively boosts older characters over new ones.
It introduces "catching up" as a concept in EVE and instantly makes it impossible to do.

Yes, the same old idea as ever. Been suggested a million times before. And as ever, shot down for all the reasons it's terrible.

All while people give no consideration to the possible middle ground -- and why this middle ground might actually make sense in the eve universe.

50% SP refund would not be game breaking

It would allow players to effectively 'delete' skills. It would mitigate any implant bonus/attribute issues (and there are other ways around this anyways).

Besides, in this sci-fi universe we are literally 'uploading' skills into our neocortex aren't we? why is it so far fetched that we might replace/change skills (with obvious degredation issues -- the 50%+ reduction in sp)
