...can you?

If I deploy a GSC in a safe spot can others scan it down and mess with it? I am formulating a plan for low/nul sec exploration.

Nope.

You have to use dscan and a series of staggered warps and well timed bookmarks and then a few hours of burning at ti with a MWD to hope to reach it.

It is possible though.

Also if you leave your ship afk at the location they certainly CAN find that.

I was under the impression you can scan down any anchorable object .... this is why storing bubbles at your safe spots is a good way to get your safe spot busted... I must admit, I haven't tried it with a GSC though...

Nope, POS structures are a special category, not entirely sure about the anchorable bubbles though.

But POS structures are the only structures that can be scanned.

only way to get to a GSC is to fly to it or waiting till the owner warps to it and then probe him out. Well, there's metagaming ways but lets keep that out of the equation :)

From personal experience I know that Mobile Warp Disruptor's (a.k.a. anchorable bubbles) can be scanned down with combat probes.
I did it myself sometimes when we forgot to take them down after a bubbled up wormhole collapsed. It wasn't really for the value of the things, but they do clutter up the overview sometimes.

And as far as I know, GSC's can not be scanned down with probes. But like already said above, you can find them with D-scan. Tedious work though.

In order for something to be probable, it must have a sensor strength greater than zero.

  • Mobile warp disruptors will now show up on probe results as intended; previously they did not have sensor strengths so could not be found. Small/Medium/Large disruptors are now approximately as easy to find as Frigates/Cruisers/Battleships respectively.
