Hi guys, hoping I might be able to find some help about this strange issue i just recently started experiencing. I downloaded and installed the latest EVE Client today, but when i run it, while in Full Screen i see this weird coloring display, as though the color palette has turned into negative? But when i switch to either of the windowed modes, it immediately goes away. Its very hard to explain without a picture as a visual aid, so im hoping im allowed to post this link here

[url=http://tinypic.com/r/b6da3q/6]

My relevant system Specs are as follows for reference -
Dual Radeon HD 6850's in Xfire (connected to 32" 1080p Monitor) Running CCC 12.11b11
16Gig Ddr3 1600 Ram
Amd fx 8120 CPU ~4.0Ghz OC
Windows 7 Ult 64bit.

Things I have tried so far -
Eve Repair tool
Reinstalling graphics drivers both 12.10 and 12.11b11
Turning down all graphics settings settings at login screen ( no effect on picture, btw)
Turning Xfire off.

Im aware that i can just play in a fixed windowed mode, but I would like the game to play as it should, not altered into windowed mode.

Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.

Makes me think a video card perhaps is bad? What about the system PSU (the most overlooked part of a system)?

Full screen the video card would be worked harder and therefore would work the PSU harder. Just and idea from someone whom has been a computer tech since the days of DOS.

Thanks for the suggestion. The PSU is a KingWin 850Watt, Single Rail PSU. And Neither of the Graphics cards show any issues in any other game i play in fullscreen. Xfire works flawlessly, I just finished Farcry 3 the other day, in fact, with a steady 70 FPS with no artifacting or stuttering of any kind, if thats any indication. I do not have anything Overclocked except the CPU. And the entire system tested stable for over 24 hours with Prime95 when it was first built. No alterations or tweaks to the system have been made since then.

Although it may sound like it, i am not trying to state my rig is perfectly working.. Just that i have no tbeen able to create any instabilities during gaming as yet.

I would try another game now, since the problem has started.

Computer issues have an habit of cropping up really fast and something could have happened since last gaming session with other game and now.

I have gone back into Farcry3, Assassins Creed 3, EVE, And a handful of other games currently installed. The only one that develops any issues is EVE while running Full Screen mode.

At first I thought it might be an issue with Xfire. But diabling it and attempting to run EVE again in full screen mode provided the same result.

Could be a sign of more things to come then. I had a FX5500 years ago using it to game. It worked fine on every game except GW1. I was stumped. Gave up on GW1 and just forgot about it. Well, eventually every game looked like the screenshot you posted. Card was gone. I should have payed attention when GW1 acted that way.

I run dual monitors on one card with Eve. Runs great and my little wimpy GT240 is able to keep both instances at 40 FPS and sometimes more. So this game is coded well and light (CPU also runs at about 20-30% on an i3 540 (so I am not on top of the tech curve here)), you should not be having an issue. Could be a driver issue as well, could try rolling back the driver one version and see if that corrects the issue, could work.

I really hope these cards arent going out. Ive only had them a couple of months. And i have already tried rolling back the drivers to the last stable build of 12.10. I get the same issue whether i have Xfire enabled or disabled. Even tried switching the Hdmi cable to the secondary card. Same issue. Everything works fine until i try to run the client in full screen mode.

I doubt it is a hardware issue on my end as all the other tests ive ran so far have not shown anything remotely similar to the issue within EVE. BUT, From what the screen looks like, it definitely would make one think that the card is going bad, not registering the color palette correctly. So im hoping someone happens to come across a workaround or fix for this that im unable to think of at the moment.

Warranty is nice.

If I was bored and wanting to figure this out, I would be temped to remove cards 1 at a time and try it. Chances are they are not both bad unless you PSU did indeed run a muck (which they can).

Like Agwass said keep a very close eye on the cards going out completely.

Besides that, use fixed windowed mode, it really won't harm anything nor will it detract from your "as the game was intended" experience.

That and Alt-tabbing is easier :D

I have, actually, done what you suggested already by removing one card at a time.. Same result both times. Full screen shows this weird color effect, along with scrunched up looking UI and Text. While windowed mode looks fine. ( Im also a Computer Technician, so these things came to my mind as well)

Just try switching to 24 bit color. Just curios.

My Monitor (32" Sceptre HDMI Tv) does not support 24bit color depth. Only 16 bit and 32 bit at 1920x1080..

Update though.. While turning off Xfire and switching back and forth between the 2 video cards a few times, I have now, somehow, gotten the game to run properly in full screen. I honestly have no idea what or how this happened.. But i am now a happy camper.. :P

Thanks to you guys who offered your assistance, and hopefully I do not see this problem rear its ugly head again..
