As the title says, is their anyway for a corp to pull out of a war when they sent an offer of support?

Try creating multiple petitions, something like this:

We dared to attack a superior force, but we are being outsmarted all day long, we can't take the humiliation any more! Please save us from the consequences of our actions!

It worked for the oldest noobs, I mean alliance in EVE, Ushrakong or whatever their name is.
