You're scanning near Jita, right?

Well good luck being the first one of the 2,5 bazillion explorers running the sites within 5 jumps of Jita.

Fly off. At least 10 jumps away from the major trading hubs, especially Jita.

You will start to get much better results.

I've only done a tiny bit of exploration but it can be very lucrative, especially for a new player.

Since you're new, I would advise to stay away from low-sec for now, until you get the hang of it.
But don't stay away forever, you'll find more and better sites in low than in high. Plus, there's less players competing about the sites. Low-sec doesn't mean instant death if you know what you're doing.

My only advise is to stay away from the system with high traffic.
Use dotlan to find a sweetspot of system with 0.5-0.6 sec status, far away from the major trade hubs (Jita, Amarr, Dodixie, Rens/Hek).

And, use the Imicus for exploration, it's awesome after the recent buffs.

You'll probably find sites that's worth more, even in high-sec.
And since you're new, that's a lot of iskies :)

That's great!

If you find a few systems that form a little loop and aren't heavily populated you can just keep rescanning them for changes after you clear a site. New sites will spawn fairly fast if the constellation is, as a whole, active.

Good luck! I'm glad it's starting to work out for you.

The quickest way I found to do this was to use a real notepad with a pen or pencil. I'd jot down what the signature ID was of each wormhole. OR you can bookmark the site when you scan it down the first time and put the ID in the bookmark label. That way you keep a record as well.

1. Select Any Signature in your Scanner
2. Ctrl-A (Select All); Ctrl-C (Copy)
3. Alt-Tab to MS Excel, Open Office, Notepad, Whatever
4. Ctrl-V (Paste)

Now you have an instant list/spreadsheet of every sig ID in the system.

I hate the physical act of writing crap down, and avoid it like the plague.

I know sometimes it's difficult to realize just how much you spend on incidental things each month or year, but seriously, EVE is very cheap entertainment compared to most things... If you are a smoker, smoke one less pack a week and pay for EVE, with money left over to pick up a cheap bundle of flowers for the EVE widow upstairs.

Check the link in my bio, it has a newbie guide on exploration. If you still can't make it happen after having fully watched it then I don't know what to tell you :)
