Day 5 as a member of the Imperial Academy, I sit in Amarr system preparing for the trip to Khanid Prime and I ponder, why we haz no Journal? One we can export even? A Quest log, not a queue of current assignments but a documented quest logs in immersive EVE style, "hand" written by us?

It's all about the journey, no?

It's called the note pad. You can find it in game.

This post was lovingly crafted by a member of the Goonwaffe Posting Cabal, proud member of the popular gay hookup site somethingawful.com, Spelling Bee, Grammar Gestapo & #1 Official Gevlon Goblin Fanclub member.

Captain's Log: Stardate, New Year's Eve.

I remain a lifeless dweeb who is reading about the lack of a captain's log on the Eve Online forums on New Year's Eve. My resolution for next year: to do more creative writing.

I chose to stay in and play EVE tonight. I'm sorry you feel trapped in the decision and are so bitter as a result. Better luck next year.

It's called a killboard.

It would be nice to have a log like this. It would allow for more casual role-playing and immersion, things we could do with some of around here.

Bring the game back to video game?
Yea, I agree. Things can get a little clinical here. A little too clinical. The option to treat EVE like a science project would still be there. It would also have the fiction building aspect available as well.

You'd be surprised at how limited our notepad is. I used it for listing market items with descriptions on it.. I only got to list around 6-7 items for 5 regions (i think it has a 3000 character limit, needs testing).

Make another note? If you do this often, you'll begin to accumulate a very long list of notes which is problematic in its own way. There are other little things that I want to point out, but what i'd like to suggest to the thread starter is to play eve in windowed mode and run your favorite text editor outside.

If you dislike windowed mode, then launch the ingame browser and use googledocs or a blogging service.

And what would this "Journal" add to the game exactly?

When CCP_ Diagoras was posting stats, didn't he say she gets rescued like 10,000 times a day or something ?

Today I put another long skill in queue and went back to the neverending struggle: Trying to get World of Warplanes to actually work as it should with a freaking joystick.

They checked the Journal and the records show nothing so they can't help.
